trying some B&W. Somehow there's something missing in the feel of the photo. Can anybody help me out?

I don't know. It just doesn't feel like having a very real quality to it. Perhaps the subject is not good for monotone?

perhaps your photo was somehow too contrast. also, the shadow area was just a bit too muddy. changing your camera setting might help.

The man spoils it by taking us away from the picture with his gaze. It would be better if he had eye contact with the girl. The top part can be eliminated.

I quite agree and I prefer the brownish tones than just B&W as they are more pleasing to the eyes and less contrasting.
I would have thought the main subject is that young man at the stall and he should be 'manified' at the right time when his eyes meet yours. Unfortunately he's turned his head away and not kept his eyes at the lady.
As such the distracting space above, and the cluttered part on the left of the stall should be eliminated to give full concentration on that man.
Maybe not showing too many steps by cropping the bottom part and not even showing the girl's feet would lead one's eyes to the main object - the man.
(My comments are for fun only.

I actually like that the man is looking away.
There he is in front of the small stall that is his livlihood, his world, his ball-and-chain. Yet he is looking wistfully away at what we don't know. Not even a passing girl disturbs his reverie. Where he is looking and what he is thinking adds mystery to the shot. Nice pic Cheung.
PS why does it look like there is a pile of dismembered feet at one corner of the stall?

Hmm
..must be taken while you're waiting @ one of the MTR interchange corridors...let me guess, between Tsim Sha Tsui/Hongkong/Central/Admiralty station??..
*psst, i thought you were going to lend your hands and help the fella push/pull the luggage??..(:
..it's a halloween-costume-outfit-decor stall..

Not exactly Chris. I took the shot at Canton road Tsim Sha Tsui. In fact I was expecting some Mainland Chinese tourist walking around with their newly bought LV, Gucci, Prada bags. I need that shot for the newspaper. But suddenly that man and woman turned out in front of me. Therefore, I took that photo for fun without any hesitation.

Excellence link. Thanks.
I follow your link even though I saw my friend link in Facebook many days ago and never click on his link.
This is his link for the Street Photography Challenge on the same website. Maybe Cheung can submit that photo after some cropping.

Thanks for the link! I didn't know there was a term to describe that kinda photography! I just simply call it "snap shot" taking in the past.
