Planning for 2007 Vancouver trip - June?
Per some local demand, I had to start to plan the possible 2007 Van trip quite a few months in advance. I know this is way too early to nail down any detail schedule, but i was under some pressure to at least give my local group some "ideas" so they can schedule their activities around.
The initial proposed date will be early june time frame, as the weather should be nice. Some of the local member(s) might bring their families along, therefore some site seeing is a must for non players. Therefore, my usual April time frame does not fit.
As for myself, I think I can't get away without playing several games. However, I doubt i was allowed to play like day and night as the previous 3 times. The ppl who come with me (the ones already voiced their concern) should very well fill my slackness, as they are as equally (if not more) crazy as I used to be. They said that they can't wait to stand on the nice court, and get whipped by the vancouver gangs. Therefore, I think top facilities such as VRC, C1/C2, Richmond Pro, Collingwood are all on their list. I will try to tag along for some main events, but not gauranteed. Plus, who wants to see a 300 lb ball bouncing around all the time?
Let me see if June is a good idea to start with or not. Since this time is a group effort, I think it requires much more planning when compare to my usualy trip. Any help / suggestion is welcome.
Time for the East meets the West, i think.

Unless I go back to my "used to be" 5 sessions per week days, otherwise, the van gangs will see a 300lb ball bouncing this time. Kinda really out of shape recently.

Hey, with this much advance notice, maybe Kwun and gang down south can make it out and we should organize a BC/BF tourney! I hear Madbad volunteering

Make sure there's a trophy for "last place". So, I won't go home empty handed.

Got confirmation from the local buddies and gf. Seems that the early June trip is officially on target. Some are even starting to lay out their next year's vacation plan around this trip.
The good part is, I will get a few baddy fanatics (they are qualified for MXD, if you know what I mean
) with me here. The bad part is, I don't think I can participate all the mid-night sessions, as gf needs to sleep early.
I will try to make the main event (VRC Sat torture session and/or Richmond Pro 1st visit), if I will be allowed...
So, it's down to the Vancouver locals to see if they can put something together by then.
P.S: Any response from the CA and MTRL folks???

There's a "Who's Happy, Who's Not" thread that's pretty active. I'm thinking of nominating LB.
Who's Happy: LazyBuddy
Who's Not: Badminton Lazybuddy

Wow ... who plans ahead is ahead of the game. ;-)
Let's party again! Those courts are real addictive!
I have no clue about badminton players in Montreal.
Of course I would love to get "shredded into pieces" once again
and that wouldn't be too hard this time... I'm in worst shape than LB ... I'm "almost"retired from badminton.
Anyways, if this interests anyone, the only tentative time frame would have to be after july ... I have to get school done first (end of june)
