    Hi, please provide an update on the badminton scene in NS.
    Where & When are some of the intermediate/upper level adult clubs held? Is there a local league? Coaching available? Places to get a restring?
    Thanks

    The Mount is still operating Tuesday nights 8-10:30. You can get a mixed bag there of skill. Local leagues wise there's badmintonns.ca that's the provincial organization that'll have all of the tournaments and activities in the province. General sports dealers like Cleve's and Sportchek will over charge for a terrible stringing job.

    @kyleb,
    You are not being completely fair to Cleve's and Sportchek: They will also over-charge for a mediocre string job.

    @shosasakigamba,
    The Mount Saint Vincent club is a good place to start if you don't have contacts here. If you can't find someone to match your skill there, there might at least be someone to tell you what else is available in town.

    Also, Dalhousie University has a badminton club at Dalplex. (?Friday/Sundays)

    @tangent90 : October 2015? You are planning ahead!

    For badminton, just post when you arrive and somebody here can set you up.

    For neighbourhoods: it depends what you want..... trees, privacy, big lot and a commute vs. smaller, more expensive but in town. If you are coming from England, house prices will seem cheap here.

    Hello Guys,

    Just moved to Halifax for my masters degree at Dal. Had a steady group of baddy friends in Vancouver. Itching to play now. Waiting for school to start and see if I can find some schoolmates who are also into badminton. Lemme know if anyone has a court that I can drop in! I'm Chinese but no where close to the pro levels as my Asian-mates. slight competitiveness in me though!

    cheers guys

    FElix

    The dalplex is probably the biggest place if you want to meet people playing badminton.
