Why not just pratice on your timing? If you keep hitting the frame, then theres a problem with your timing. Sometimes switching from a head heavy racket to a headlight racket will take time to adjust to the timing.

Hitting the rim is not always that bad. It wins me plenty of points most of the time when it goes over the net :D

But really, if you're hitting the frame all the time, take the time to practice your timing.

it all comes naturally with practice, practice hitting clears, its easy to hit sweet spot on clears, then move on to other shots.

You need both coaching and practice, if affordable.

If you are fairly new to the sport, coaching is the best way to improve with fewer mistakes to make. After each coaching session, do enough drills (under the coach's suggestion) and try to adopt what you learned into your game, and develop ur overall technique.

One coach I studied with told me that when your opponent hits the rim (on a defensive shot between partners), it's one way to know that you're placing your attacking shot in the right place.

In your case, I'm guessing that it's a matter of hitting more shuttles until you become more comfortable with the timing.

The term "fairly new to the sport" does not mean you only pick up a racket for less than 3 days. It more applies to the fact that "lack of practice". ;) From your post, seems your timing has some issues. The best way to deal with it (instead of getting frustrated at yourself or racket), is to get a coach to correct your timing and practice your strokes with drills.

I doubt there's any magical short cut to achieve a goal.

I want to learn how to hit the rim at will. Imagine the deception.

i keep hitting the rim as well but it just takes practice and good concentration on the shuttlecock.. if you have a good sight on the shuttlecock added with timing, you won't hit the rim at all.. :) it just takes practice.. I barely hit the rim anymore but i still do.. hehe.. all you need is practice, perseverance, and patience..
