    Hi,
i have read through various source related to Yonex string selection. I'm intend to select the Yonex string which is best for the power & speed of smashing. I have managed to narrow down to 3 different string which i believe are meant for great repulsion.
    1. BG 66
    2. BG 80
    3. BG 68 Ti

Can somebody provide me some expertise on which of these 3 string is the best in term of smashing? I'm using a head heavy racket & used to string my racket around 24 or 25 lbs.

    Thank you.

    (1) how long have you been playing? If you have been playing for a few years, you would no doubt have restrung your racquets several times. What strings /tensions did you use in the past and how did you find those strings? With this information ppl can give you a better recommendation.

i have playing badminton for more than 15 years, i used to play with BG 66 but can't discover the beauty of it, & then switch to BG 68-Ti. However, just have a feel that BG 68-Ti in term of smashing, not feel really great (i could be wrong) never try BG 80 before. Hence, was trying to seek some advise here...

personally: bg66 is as sensitive and playable as it gets...

I ahve tried BG 66/68ti/80/85/65ti and rating the strings on performance (not durability) bg66 comes out on top...with the most bounce and the most feel in it.

BG85/80 come close, having a great grip on the shuttle, but are less bouncy and repulsive ("powerfull"), they're more durable though...of the two 85 performs a bit better, while 80 is more durable/holds tension better

bg68ti bounces quite nice, along the lines of 80/85, but it feel just dead. there's no life in the string, and slicedrops are a pain with this slippery string..

I'm not even going to discus 65ti, it pales compared to these thinner performers..

I like BG66 a whole lot and I'm using it now too. I like the bounce when you hit the sweetspot lot and coupled with the feedback from the NS9000, helps me 'learn' how to hit the sweetspot properly.

I also think Neon Yellow and turquoise BG66 goes well with NS9000 :)

Seems you already give "no" to BG66 and 68Ti already, why not give 80 a shot? It's a good all around performance string, definitely worth a try. ;)

I played with BG68ti @ 23lbs for about a month before the strings snapped. Like others have said, the string is quite slippery and is hard for those slice shots, but other than that, I thought the string was pretty good. My clears and smashes felt just fine, and my drops and deceptive strokes seemed to be pinpoint.

Hopefully this can help you out a little in your quest =)

BG66 Is great at moderate tension 19 - 23lbs generaly. Any higher than that it will burst before you could ever trully enjoy it.

BG6 is becoming more popular lately among the hardcore players. This includes State / National programme players. It's basically the same make as BG66 but produced from the China Factory. More durable at higher tensions but not quite as responsive... But then again, nothing i have seen can compare with BG66 in that category.

I don't bother with most of the high tech Yonex strings. BG66, BG6 & BG65 seems to be enough to meet any customer / players demands. :O

    Cheers

PS: Anybody ever considered the risk of having toxic particals of titanium flying about your breathing space everytime your TI string smashed into a shuttlecock???

Do they carry around 10+ rackets? Great performing string but 66 breaks so fast. I would opt for BG80. 90%-95% the performance of 66 and 500% the durability.

bg6 is new to me, do u have any specs like diameter and how it is woven?

i wouldnt worry about the Ti dust, the ti coating is not elemental ti but rather a oxide or polymer mix. The best white paints are tiO2. Some good suntan lotions have ti oxide too;) I would worry about feather dusts more.

I just strung my Racquet with BG66 3 days back at 23lbs, played for a few minutes and pop the string broke....:crying:

I wonder if there is a more durable alternative that has the same characteristics as BG66?

    Yeah Dink,

I've heard that BG66 snaps even more notoriously among temperate climates!

Most of the pros know don't carry half the arsenal you are carrying dude! :D :p

    Cooler

I don't have the Factory specific specs. 0.66mm and is being marketed as a licenced BG66 clone from China.

There were a few players using BG66 at this years' Singapore Open strung at >26lbs.

I presume this is their regular string which they also use during training. For them, BG66 obviously doesn't break after a few minutes... otherwise how to train....

what i know bg66 used by almost all pros player ,so ithink it is the best perform string,

i used this string before this is high tension string but has no durability. the tension and performance will decrease rapidly.
