The fasting month is called Ramadan. (Eid al mubaraq)
The Raya month is called Syawal (Eid-ul-fitr or in SEA, Aildilfitri).

It'll be ghee rice, chilli chicken, mutton curry etc on Saturday, then it will be lemang, rendang, ketupat, curry next... YUMMMM...

The vermicellies in India and Pakistan are not the same as those in Malaysia and in SEA (mee hoon), the former are more the colour of noodles (mee) and are made from flour and are much finer, the latter coarser, white, and are made from rice.

Actually, I did mean Melaka/Malacca the state. =D Gula melaka + ginger in boiling water with glutinous rice balls... ahhh now that's what I call awesome. hehe.

Oops, but it's Raya + Deepavali now. Hehehe. Say, the Indians make these really really sweet kind of food, I once ate a flowery orange thing. Forgot what it's called, but that was also... *drools*

And rendang? lemang? Ahhhh thats fantastic!

I sound like a starved kid talking.. or perhaps a true Malaysian? Hehehe. In school a few friends and I were talking about food.. now online here I am talking about food again...

Uh oh. So much for training this hols. :D
