no i havent been chosen. for my prov, they are choosing 2 u23, and 3 u21. best 2 events per tournament. must play at least 3 out of 4 jof the required tournaments. 5th player chosen could may not be determined by points but by coach's discretion?? something along these lines..

This is pretty late on the thread, but I'm going too!

We're going to get smoked... I'm the oldest girl, and am still U19, heh. We only have two guys U23 and only of them does well nationally.

Oh well. At least we'll still beat Saskatchewan!

In Manitoba, we pay $500 towards the CWG. The province covers our airfare to Whitehorse (which is almost $2000), all of our food and accomodations at the Games (dormitory style with all you can eat all day, plus a full athletes village almost exactly like the Olympics, just smaller), our walk-out suit (ski jacket, fleece, ski pants, tuque, gloves), our off-court stuff (pajamas, shirts), our on-court stuff (6-8 dry-fit shirts, shorts, skirts, track suit, warm up tops). All the clothes all emblazoned with Team Manitoba and stylized, of course. We also had our airfare, entry fee, and hotel paid for in our trip to the Toronto Senior Elite as a 'training tournament'. We also have practices twice a week (on top of normal 3-4x a week club practice), a provincial coach, a sport psychologist, and a nutritionist who comes in sometimes.

So basically, it's a really, really, really good deal.

Well, the next games are in four years, and the age grouping is two players U23 and three players U19 per team.

Yep. Of course I pay about $1000 a year for club fees, so you could count that.

And it should be fun, we're going to get slaughtered though.

Congrats to all you all for representing your respective provinces at the CWG. I had mentioned in another thread that the CWG BC team (not sure if finalized) will be playing 4 exhibition matches against a team from Jiangsu province next week. It'll be interesting to see how they fare against a badminton nation factory.

For sure! I'll be at RichmondPro on Tues night. In fact the Jiangsu (China) team was at RichmondPro this afternoon training and sparring with some of the coaches' students. Very entertaining.

No, I don't... although I was under the impression that how we do in the individual event determines which pool we're placed into in the team event.
