    MS:
    Lin D - Lu QC
    PalYama - Chan
    Bao C - Hariyanto
    Chen Y - Sapkul

    Smith - Pan
    Sato - Chen H
    Hidayat - Boosak
    Kuan - Chen J

    WS:
    Zhang - Judith
    Jiang - Wong
    Wang - Hirose
    Zhu - Li

    Wong - Lu
    Wang - Yao
    Mori - Zhen
    Wang - Xie

double names are too long to type, anyway, partial list

    MD:
    A lot of Malaysia Chinese.
    Xia XZ

    WD:
    A lot of Japanese pairs.

    XD:
6 pairs from CHN, 5 pairs from Chinese Taipei, plus KKK/WTP, the Malaysia Chinese (?)

It seems that Malaysia concentrates on men's doubles, Japanese strong in women's doubles, and Chinese Taipei in mixed doubles. China keeps outnumbering others in both men's and ladies' singles.

Strange things: There are so many Chens in mens singles, none Wang, while so many Wangs in ladies singels, no Chen.

    my predictions:

    MS:
    Lin D - Lu QC
<-- Lin D has to lose some day, sooner or later, and since more wins, means more chance to lose next round.

    PalYama - Chan

    Bao C - Hariyanto

    Chen Y - Sapkul

    Smith - Pan

    Sato - Chen H

    Hidayat - Boosak
    tough call, taufik is unpredictable

    Kuan - Chen J

    WS:
    Zhang - Judith
    Jiang - Wong
    Wang - Hirose
    Zhu - Li

    Wong - Lu
    Wang - Yao
    Mori - Zhen
    Wang - Xie

    Hope can get 50%+ correct

Lin D has won too much.

Some people found out that the player with shorter last name wins the match. Then it's the time for Lu beating Lin, if Lu cannot do that, then there is not much chance left in this touranment to stop Lin. :D Bao? all the others are four-letter last name or longer :D

Have you watch Lu QC played in 1st round against Simon? I mean he played good, but to say he can beat LD is like too much of expectation on this young fellow. Or do you expect Lin Dan to perform a Taufik all of a sudden when a bad line-call comes out?

Now then you say Taufik to beat Boonsak... tough call, taufik is unpredictable.... Seems to me the word "UNSTABLE" seems more appropriate than unpredictable(which is a word used often to cover one's weakness at times):p

Lin D sometimes plays subpar without reason. His smash is powerful, but if he used too often, he will be tired, then error prone, then frustrated, then lost

I said Taufik is unpredictable for the reason that he's going to upset Boonsak, please keep in mind, that Boonsak is the seed, not Taufik, if Taufik keeps his good run, he will beat Boonsak to make a upset.  Weird, eh

Ng is the seed, while Hidayat is not.
while Lin is the seed, Lu is not,

So that theory seems to only apply to upsets ;)

I made all the predictions according to the seedings, with only two exceptions, Lin D and TH.

Seems like all these weakness will only happen to LD in most people's mind, and LD's opponents will less likely to experience those same weakness, then all of a sudden LD is expected to lose?? Malaysian fans think LCW can learn from LD's game plan, but the reverse can't happen... now people think LD will smash too often, then get tired and lose... but can't the same happen to his opponent?

The last time I watch Lu QC's match, he still had not met world's top class level of play, and he even felt into Simon's trick shot easily. The number of defensive backhand clear Lu had to do just in 3rd round alone was way too many, and that's not a good sign if you are to play against top class players. Lu will need some time to develop his potential and maybe one day he can be the next LD or even better.

    My prediction:

    MS:
    Lin Dan - Lu QC
The only way LD will lost tomorrow is the tiredness having to play 3 events in 3 weeks and won 2 of them. This is the second time LD had to met his own teammates.

    Dicky PalYama - Chan YK

    Bao CL - Agus Hariyanto

    Chen Yu - Sapkul

Andrew Smith - Eric Pang 50:50 here cause lately Eric seems lost a lot when playing lower rank player.

    Sato Shoji - Chen Hong
Seems like CH had the easiest route again to at least reach SF.

    Hidayat - Boonsak

Can Boonsak win again after his first win this year in Thomas Cup qualification? Boonsak although is a very talented player, but he still lack consistency. Sometimes he can play amazingly brilliant, but most of the times too sloppy when playing top players. Probably TH will win in 3 sets.

    Kuan - Chen Jin

After a rest at JO, CJ will win in 2 sets.

Prediction: Probably will not had any major suprise here.

    WS:

    Zhang Ning- Judith M

Judith can used ZN tiredness after ZN awesome against XXF in JO 2006 final.

    Jiang YJ- Wong MC

    Wang Chen- Hirose

    Zhu Lin- Li Li

    Julia Wong - Lu Lan

    Wang Lin - Yao Jie

This is the chance for WL to proved to LYB that her title in China PICC earlier this year is not coincidence. After that she lost to easy players couple of times and LYB stop sending her to major events. If she get past YJ, she will probably be send again playing major events.

    Kaori Mori- Chen Li

So far this year, Chen Li only lost to her teammates or other ex Chinese players. So she will storm past Kaori MOri in 3 sets.

Wang Yi Han- Xie Xing Fang

WYH had bad draw. From all the draw, she had to meet XXF in R16. If not draw against XXF or ZN, she had chance to move into QF and made LYB notice her.

Prediction of QF: All Chinese players in QF. (Wang Chen also included cause she is from HK )

As for WD, although now Japan still had lots of pairs in R16, in R 8 my prediction will be:

5 or 4 Chinese pairs, 1 Taiwanese pair, 1 Thailand or 1 Malaysia pair and 1 England pair.

I agree with 2cents that Lin Dan will not win China Open this year...maybe not losing tomorrow, but taken down by another one of his CHN teamates later on. He's whooped a lot of ass already(a long streak of consecutive tournaments) but I think his compatriots(Bao, the Chens(3x), maybe some unknown dudes) are probably out for blood too. If there's anywhere in the world where Lin can lose, it's China!....and malaysia:p lol

Lu QC is playing really well - one thing I noticed is that he high serves from the right and low serves from the left most of the time. He may have difficulty high serving to Lin Dan...
