Yeah.. he's capable of hitting it really hard but he prefers to use the half smash because its more accurate or the cut shots bring it steeper yeah his height helps big time.

From the 2004 Olympics announcer:

Kim Dong Moon 6' 0.5"
Ha Tae Kwan 6' 2"

They always looked about the same height to me, but I guess Kim's thinner frame makes him look taller.

Didn't know Peter Gade was 6'1", he's taller than KDM.

And Lee Choong Wei is only 5'8"?

He's shorter than Zhang Ning?

..speaking of Korean players, i remember in last yr's WC, i also noticed Park Joo Bong. Now, he's quite tall as well..

In this post on this thread, I included some heights of mostly singles players. The references are all gone, now, though. The Athens site had many but it's been taken down and the heights have disappeared from the IBF(BWF) site altogether, including from the head-to-head section.

Im Bang-eun: 186cm
Kim Dong-moon: 184cm
Ha Tae-kwun: 187cm
Shon Seung-mo: 182cm
Park Sung-hwan: 186cm
Jeon Jun-beom: 187cm
Lee Jae-jin: 178cm
Hwang Ji-man: 175cm

Hwang Hye-youn: 169cm
Seo Yoon-hee: 162cm
Lee Kyung-won: 160cm
Lee Hyo-jung: 178cm
Ha Jung-eun: 173cm
Hwang Yumi: 165cm

Elsewhere, Lee Hyo-jung is listed as 180cm which makes her taller than her mixed partner. 18-year-old Kim Mun-hee is also 180cm.

I don't think so. The records I've seen have them both at 184cm, which is a hair under 6'0.5".

I think the tallest player on the pro tour these days might be Roman Spitko of Germany. Or maybe Xie Zhongbo of China. Right. This says Spitko is 1.93m while Bjoern Joppien is 1.92m.

Actually this link has a few European players such as...
Nathan Robertson: 188cm
Robert Blair: 185cm

but it is hard to believe some of them. They list Mia Audina as 161cm and Zhang Ning as 168cm or the same as Pi Hongyan! I think they meant "7" instead of "6" for Mia and Zhang.

Yes, the reason the MVP Cup data is wrong is that they mixed up Zhang Ning and Pi Hongyan. They have the two of them with not only the same height but also the same world ranking and even the same date of birth!

Maybe everything else is right but isn't Mia Audina taller than 161cm?

..once all the datas and infos are collected/set-up, should we provide conversion numbers to feet and inches also for the rest of them metric-challenged U.S. people??...or we're just sticking with metric numbers??..
