I'm impressed with BCL mental strength. He was calm and did not panic even when he was trailing 9-17 in the 2nd set.

But LD seemed to be making alot of unforced errors rather than BCL winning the points outright.

im prety sure LD is not too bothered he lost... in fact it wud not b too much to say LD wouldnt mind if he lost comin in2 this match.. so he loses to his comrade - no prob - gold to china is most important n BCL can use those rankin points.. my proof? when they shook hands u see a big grin on LD's face like dis ;) CHN to take 4 spots of the top 5 ranks!

Wow congratulations BCL! That's quite a win, but I'll have to wait till I can watch the match myself before I can decide whether or not I think LD gave the game to Bao. I really don't think he would though... I mean if they are friends shouldn't LD show his respect to BCL by doing his best?

He had beaten both LCW and LD this year, which those 2 was the worst nighmare of Bao. Congrats to Bao!

I don't think its intentional... look at bao's reaction after he win...its a total lungs out.... just like modious said, bao showed mental toughness and didn't show discouragement even trailing on second set... and LD loosen his grip on the ending part of second and he pay the price.... LD is my idol... but its okay.. in a game, everyone will lose a fight, and everyone has its day.. and this day is for Bao.... jia you Bao... and LD, i still salute you.... awesome smash power and all ....

BTW.... I've been observing LD's racket, and somehow his racket grip is only half through the shaft handle... even showing the wood upper part....i am just curious why he made it like this? I've been asking chinese colleagues here to find an answer in any chinese net forums but can't find any answer.... hope anyone here knows about it... thank you very much...

Hehe, the ex-world junior champion is back... And its just like in the world junior championship 2000, when lin was beaten by bao in the semifinal, and the next day bao become the champ... I hope the same thing will happen tomorrow... Jia you, Baobao!!!

This has been discussed before in this forum. LD likes to hold the handle near the centre as shown in the Badminton Central pic above. The towel grip is only halfway up the handle so as to "force" LD to hold the handle lower.
