I'm looking for a light even balanced racquet. I live in Canada, but am willing to look elsewhere too.. I've read that a brand like Finnex makes some really nice balanced ones.. brands aren't important, but not going to spend more than 100 canadian (can be converted to something else..)
How about a nice light Carlton Ariblade Superlite? You should be able to find this racket on badmintonzon.com and I heard some Canadian Tire's stock the Carlton Powerblade Superlite, which is equally good.
i used my friend's racquet (a light racquet a tight string tension, not sure exactly, but seems like around 22-24 lbs..) and i can generate plenty of power.
I don't know about you, but I find that the Airblade Superlite packs a lot of power, maybe your technique is incorrect?
Look no further. You need to be more specific as to Light, the weight can be 75g-93g. Every player is different, some may say 93g is light and perfect to them. I might like 77g rackets and feather light. Hmmm, for 100 Canadian dollars.....= $67 USD. If you like 77g rackets and in your price range, look no further, get the Kason Carvel U3 ultra-light or Kason Legrity L5. If you like the 93g rackets, get the Sotx Woven 11, a bit out of your price range.
What about the S7? How does it compare with the L5? I ordered an L5 from bbeshop but they sent em an S7 instead. Just wondering if there is any appreciable difference between them.
The MP23 and MP30 are 3U (85-89g) and even balanced. The MP23 is $80 from SportsChek, while the MP30 sells for around $100. A friend of mine that is a hard-hitter uses the low-end Iso 65 LT strung with BG-80 at around 24lbs. He can hit harder smashes than another friend that uses an AT500. This just proves power comes from the player not the racquet. It's 3U and even balanced and he spent $40 at SportChek for the racquet plus $25 for the string job. If you want 4U (80-84g), there is the Carlton Powerblade Superlight that george mentioned. Canadian Tire has them for $50. This one is head-light tho.
I believe the S7 is also a 77g racket, more head heavy cuz of the balance point. Personally, I didn't like the paint job on the S7 and S8.
I'm not thrilled about the paint job either. Was kinda disappointed that they substituted the S7 for the L5 when they indicated that the L5 was in stock. That and they sent the L5 bag and the packing slip said they shipped the L5. I also have an F1 and wanted to try a light racket with a slightly more head heavy balance, hence the L5.
What? How did I get involved in this thread? Anyway, my favorite lighter rackets are the RSL Ti4900 and SOTX Woven 6. A bit heavier: SOTX Woven 8 and 9. For ultra light, try any of Kason's Leptons, Carvel, Legerity.
any idea where they sell karakaL? ima check out that carlton one.. something 85g or less sounds goodd
