(Not sure if it's been posted but doesn't look like it)

Oh MAN I want to take part in that (I love to design :D)! But rules say you need to be 18 and I turn 18 in a few months :crying:. Maybe I'll just have to use one of my parent's names or something :p.

Looks like a lot of fun though, I think as many people as possible should give it a go (chance to win a trip to Sudirman Cup or WC07 + $5000 - very tempting)! Also good to see BWF seeing the importance in presenting themselves well, and giving the badminton community a chance to take part.

Lol, you just made me laugh in the middle of class. Worst yet, nobody understood what was going on.

What in the bleeding world are you doing browsing the 'net in the middle of a class in session? Throughout history many pupils have left classrooms with reddish-pink palm imprints on their left cheeks---right cheek if the teacher's a lefty---for far less serious transgressions.

    :D

Ahh, but now where every student has a laptop with wireless connection throughout most of the campus, surfing the web is what you should be doing in class =P that and badminton >> listening to a lecture on coco the monkey and her relations to human nature/culture.

There you have it from no less a person than Punch Gunalan, specifically saying that the objective of the name change to BWF is to unite the world of badminton. The original world wide body was called the IBF, which was torn apart by a rival world wide body called the World Badminton Federation (WBF), the latter spearheaded by China and jumpships from many giant Asian powers. They merged about 25 years ago, assumed the IBF name-temporarily, I suspect-and now it is time to assume a new name.

Lol, thanks for the bit of interesting badminton history. Everytime I look at WBF, i think of wrestling.

This is because the wrestling boys were better in marketing their sport. It could have been the other way-wrestlers being reminded of badminton whenever they see WBF.

By the way: The new name is not WBF - but BWF, Badminton World Federation - the purpose is to have the word Badminton in the beginning of the new name and to copy it down to the member confederations. Badminton Asia, Badminton Europe, Badminton PanAm, Badminton Oceania, Badminton Africa. It will create a corporate look and increase its recognition in presenting Badminton world wide.

    Cheers Stephan
