I heard from people that Yonex NS9000 X/S aren't for everyone:crying: . I want to get one but I don't know if it's right for me. For those of you people that have one, what type of playing style you think will go with NS9000 the best? I'm wondering about what kind of playing style goes with it the best, not if it's good for me (yet). Thanks.
Ány playign style works...why do people always limit themselves in a "playing style".. like "I'm an offensive player" and such...why? because it sounds cool? or because you'd líke to be one? an ns9x/s can suit any "playign style"...it's more a quetsion of: do I like this type of racket? do I feel comfortable hitting it? see if you can borrow one from a friend, or demo at a shop...
I have played with a NS 9000 and i think it is a good racquet.However i dont think it suit me well. Oh well will you ever buy a shoe that is one size smaller than the your actual size? I dont think you would cause it going to be very uncomfortable. Am I right. Therefore you would want to get something that you are comfortable with. It is the same, for racquets.You can get the NS 9000 but are you really confortable with it.Can you play at your best with it or not? To some extend the type of racquet that you use dictates your style of playing but that is another thing to it all. I really suggest that you get something that you are comfortable with.
It's hard to choose a racket based on several reviews, as all the writings are subjective. If you want to take a shot, demo the racket before purchase. I assume it should be widly avaialable, and you can rent/borrow from local shops or fellow club members.
Being comfortable with a racket is different from limiting oneself to any racket by saying they are "a very offensive player" or "i am a very defensive player"; The fact that you have to find the racket that suits you the most, is the key... Try it & find out.....
i have a ns9000 S and its not the style it plays to, its the style you play it with. at first it was hard to play with it, it takes practice hours and lots of technique and experience to use it well. once mastered or can use it well its very nice, i love playing with it, its jus to try it out, if u can demo it buy it, try it, return it if u dont like it.
I have a NS9KX (2U). The racket is too stiff and heavy for my liking. This is the result of not testing the racket before buying it. Basically, the weight (2U or 3U) plays an important part in the racket characteristic. I would say a NS9KS (3U) is the most forgiving. As mentioned by Lazybuddy, the best way is to try out the racket.
I agree with u totally, Barca. NS9KS (3U) is one of the nicest racquet I have ever played with, however its also one with a hefty pricetag.
after this thread, it kind of changed my mind. I certainly don't wanna waste money on a racket I hate. I'm planning to get a type X, but after the critiscm (even agreed with everyone), I want to get S now. ~thanks~
yah good choice, all these NS9k S all agree that you cant get a fun to play with racket then the S 3U.

You could go to Tad's in Vancouver and demo the badminton rackets there. I have the NS9KS myself (3UG5 JP). Took a bit of adapting to do and I like it so far. This racket woudl be my secondary since I'm using my SP900 as the primary.
