Pete, I'd be extremely surprised if it isn't. But, IMHO, the more important feature is its tension sensitivity when the constant pull is on. IOW, how much deviation would it tolerate before it re-pulls (e.g., 10%, 0.1 lb., 0.5 lb., etc.). Because even if you can adjust to 0.001 lb., but the mechanism is not sensitive enough to detect such a minute change, then the final resulting tension wouldn't be anywhere near what you set it to be. FWIW, YMMV.
Gamma 8800 ELS Quasi, I read the tennis forum reviews but haven't found much about user reports about this machine. Have you heard anything in your area? Pete
http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?p=770253#post770253 Oh dink! 8500 & 7500 have load cells and re-pull around .5-1 lb drop. 8800 & 5800 are digital and have a spring and re-pull around .5-1.5 lb drop. 6500, X-Es & EsII+ are mechanical and have a spring and re-pull around 2-4 lb drop. The 5800 & 8800 use a digital encoder that is attached to a "car" and pushes against a spring to sense the tension. It has been very good and I haven't heard any comments or complaints about it. The tension is also set electronically. The 7500 & 8500 use a load cell to sense tension. The motor applies pressure to the LC and sends a voltage, the voltage corresponds to a tension. The load cells are a lot more sensitive to temperature & environment. It is harder to mount the LC. Tension is set electronically. Quote from the Gamma Tech

Do you people ever sleep? Enough for me. Actually, it's a bit hard to determine what its tolerance is because the LED indicator moves quite quickly (because it's slaved to the actual tension being pulled), but it's about 0.5 lb. By the time I clamp on the indicated tension is usually within 0.2--0.4 lb. of the set tension. I tried asking Mr. Wise about this, but he didn't respond. As for the new Gamma machine, no, I haven't heard any feedback about it. Considering Gamma's reputation it should be quite good. Although, I've read some comments about how it'd compete with the Babolat Star 5, which is "only" a couple of hundred dollars more.
I have the Babolat Star 5 presentation. It says the tensioner is accurate to 0.22 lb. Does that mean the tension sense slack and re-pull at 0.22 lb?
0.22 lb = 0.1 kg Maybe it means you can set the tension in 0.1 kg intervals. Maybe it means if you set a tension of 10kg you will get a tension somewhere between 9.9 - 10.1 kg
