I'm planning to change my strings very soon and i can't decide which one to get. BG 66 has a thin gauge=more replusion but very little durability. In your opinion which one will site a yonex nanospeed 9000 type x racquet which a 24lb string tension? I want lots of replusion, touch, control and pretty good durability that will last me at least a a few months. I don't play that much maybe max. 3 times a week for about an hour. Thanks for you time!
I recoment use bg 66 with tension above 25.. very powerfull for smash, clear, placement, and back hand defense clear
the things I heard are that bg 66 have low durability so I doubt I wonn't get that string---and anyone tried the bg 80 bg 85 and nanogy 95 at around 24-25lb string tension? I want to see the difference for a higher tension thanks
I did tried bg 80, bg 65 and bg 85 bg 80 for me not to good because it to soft ( tension 26) and only use a couple week the tension loss about 2-3 pounds bg 85 very good on power and placement... but same as bg 80 it easy to loss tension... here I rate sting I had used bg 66: s (sound) : 9 d (durabillity) : 6 p (power) 9.5 c (control) 8.5 bg 85 s : 8 d ; 7 p :8.5 c : 9 bg 80 s :5 d :8 p :7 c :7 bg 65 s :5 d :9 p ;5 c :8
Hmm niel, do you think i should do 25lb tension?? since it'll lose quite a bit of tension?? i played 23lbs but i thought it was ok tension. Btw were you ranking the strings at a 26lb?? thanks
How they string your racket is an important factor. 4 knots string lose tension much slower than 2 knots.
I strung my racket at badminton alley... and they are very good stringer...(have the license)....... what do you mean by how? I know there are couple differences tecnique for nano, armortec or muscle power... I think badminton alley know what they're doing....with so many years experiences...
thats up to you.......... usually I did 26-28lbs...after played some time they will lose tension about 2-3 lbs then mostly the tension will stay stable yes.. i ranking the string at 26lbs...
How often do you break your strings because you (mis)hit too hard? Those that say BG66 has low durability are able to break BG66 within a day or even within a few minutes. If you aren't in that category, I would say go ahead and use BG66 and enjoy it's repulsiveness.
My experiences have been.. BG80: Good repsulsion, nice sound, holds tension pretty well for a 0.68mm string, decent durability. BG85: Similar to BG80 but with a softer feel. BG66: If you hit hard, not the string for you. Will break quickly if you hit hard. NBG95: Never tried this one before. Cheers.
azn_123, I had my racket stringed with Nanogy95 today at Tad's as a test to see how well it does. Durability is supposedly from from what they said so I estimate around so 24.5 lbs should be good with this string. I do have a NS9K Type S on my racket stringed using Gosen Pro 66 at 24.25 lbs. Since I have two Swing Power rackets (same version and model), once has Nanogy and other with Pro66, so I can get a comparision when I try them out on Friday. The tentions on each is set such that pitch of both rackets are the same. I won't be able to give an input until Friday when I play.
Badminton alley has some decent stringers, but not all stringers are equal. I've had a friend who got his AT800 strung with bg 85 @ around 24 pounds there, then during warm up clears it popped within the first 30 min. I also got my SOTX strung there and got a weird look from the stringer, it was strung with bg 85 @ 25 pounds. Popped in 2 months of decent use the first time, around a week and a half the second time. So it really depends. Back to the topic, bg 85's @26 pounds are my string of choice over both bg 80 and bg 66. 85's just have a better feel and the power transfer is very ideal for me. The 95's seem just to expensive for amateur use, so maybe when the prices come down.
thanks guys, right now i'm playing with a 23lb string tension, with bg 65. The string isn't me I think that if i choose the bg 66 at 25crosses and 23mains I got a good feeling that i'm going to snap the string quite quick. Btw leave your posts--guy who had umm the nanogy string and pro 66 thanks! btw which has more replusion bg 80 85 or nanogy 95 and umm which has a better sound, and feel?
