Have you played badminton before? Are you going to be coached? Is this for recreational or for competition?

I'd say a basic ISO, or a basic MP.

It's best to stay away from the AT's and NS's and higher end MP's at the moment.

Yonex MusclePower 21 ? Basic thing you want as a starter racquet is something fairly robust that doesnt cost a fortune.

That's what I have, and I like it XD
Yes the MusclePower 21 is a good racket..
They're mostly (or all) in 2u, even balanced (From what I know)
Other good "non-expert" rackets are the Isometric.. 47 .. 65 (i guess its 47.. maybe 45) They might not be begginners rackets, but they still aren't high-end + mega technologies and stuff and the costs are not too high. my friend's isometric once was the racket i liked the most :p

    I suggest them

I have a iso 65 light and have played with a 40 series one. I personally don't believe they are very good rackets for their price. My iso 65 cost almost 60$ at the time and with that money I could of bought a carlton or sotx racket that I would have been much happier with.

    Depending on the person :p
    That's why I said "I suggest" hehe
Suggest but not tell him it's the best he can get
for the same amount of money.

Hm... I'm not that good, but I have a few suggestions.

Try an Isometric 65 or 75 MF Light. They're pretty good for beginners. But to tell you the truth, back when I was really a beginner, I used a 100+g $10 crappy steel racket. It made me improve a lot. Right now I'm using a MP 44, but I think you should get a low MP or ISO like MP 21 or the ISO's I mentioned above. Or, you can get a crappy steel racket (which is also a good choice, as long as you're not competing with it).
