i play once a week with a bunch of friends i don't know what style of a player i am, but i can run more than i can hit powerful smashes, if you want to categorize me...defensive i prefer a racket with good performance and probably around 3U to 4U i am willing to spend a lot...XD owned a MP23 2U and a pointfore 8000 series 100% graphite/titanium (i have no idea how heavy this racket is)
We still need to know a bit more information, such as your preference on balance, stiffness, head frame shape, etc. Here are several choices that just come to my head: Yonex NS7k/NS8k/AT800DE, SOTX 8080+/Woven 8, BK Superlight series. Overall, try to get ur hands on the racket, demo as many as possible, then make the purchase.
hmmm stiffness...i want something with a good balance that enchance my mobility head frame shape does not matter to me because i can always get use to it
I'm afraid "good balance" depends entirely on a person's preferrence. Something good to one person can be totally lousy for another. Maybe this will help - your MP23 was even-balanced, medium stiff and on the heavy side being 2U. What do you like and not like about it? Do you like it's balance but want something lighter in weight or do you want a lighter or heavier feeling racquet when you swing it? What about the stiffness?. Just right or too spongy? Do you want a more solid feel when you hit the birdie? BTW, are you in the Van area?
my MP23 is quite stiff, in my opinion is stiffer than my pointfore i want a racket lighter in weight and feeling
If you're defence and prefer the lighter/slightly more flexible feeling, go for the NS6K or the NS7k. However, if you really want to challenge yourself, get the AT800DE in a 4U.
Looks like you want something that is head-light in 3U/4U range. Maybe with a flexible shaft to help you with smashes. I'd suggest the MP44 over the NS6000. Both are head-light and 3U, so they are equally fast on defense, but the MP44 is more flexible than the NS6000, so you should be able to generate more power. I've tried both and find the MP44 better overall. The MP44 is also cheaper. Also consider the Carlton Powerblade Superlight - head-light, 4U, and stiffness somewhere between the MP44 & NS6000. Canadian Tire was selling this normally $100 racquet for $50. If you're getting either the MP44 or NS6000, then you also want to think about string & tension since both come unstrung although the shop will most likely include stringing. BG-80 should be a safe bet for string. For tension, my guess would be around 22-23lbs since you don't appear to be a total beginner.
Well...the black knight power channel 65 is 4U, iso, and is very powerful if you know how to use it. I would say it probably is light headed, medium stiff, and moves through the air very easily. Clears, serves and smashes have that explosive sound. That's if you use the right wrist work.
Blacknight SL Photon is a nice good light racket. only weighs 75g~! Racket costs around 2bills at browns
There are heavy rackets that are light, and there are light rackets that are heavy. Be careful which you get, cos you might get the wrong one.
wow my mp23 is so flexible, lol but im comparing it to ns9k S but still mp23 the only problem is the flexbility, balance is nice.
I am planning to buy carlton powerblade superlite now, do you know if they are still this in CanadianTire, I am living the Greater Toronto Area. Thanks
I would suggest a SOTX woven 6i or a Karakal M Tec 70. The karakal is 75g from what i've heard. But from my experience, I love the 6i. I have two and the average mass is 80.75 g strung! It's really stiff, and it has high tension capabilities at minimum, roughly 28 lbs.
Kason legerity L5/L6, as well as Carvel U3/U4, or any other Kason 5U racket pure awesomeness, with each having its own strengths.
I using Karakal M-Tec 70 ISO which is 70g. Even balance and hold high tension. Very good for double and fast defensive playing. Nice black paint coating.
