Currently i'm wearing yonex shb-56ex. This shoes are the ones with the just the power cushion and ergo shape. I've noticed after I've played for a while, my feet start to hurt. I'm wanting suggestions to what shoes I should get for better cushioning and for longer wear.
New Balance Tennis shoes are pretty good, in my case. Most people say yonex shb-89-90-98-99 are good, but they are $_$ for me Pics of shb-56ex plz
This is the shoes I have. They aren't very good after you play with them for a while so I need new shoes.
1. Make sure the shoes are in correct size, and don't tie them way too tightly. 2. If you still have a bit room, replace the yonex insole with better sport insoles (e.g. superfeet green, etc).
Try to stay away from tennis shoes, as they are generally heavier than badminton shoes. I agree that Yonex badminton shoes are expensive, but you can try non-yonex brands, such as SOTX, Kason, Wilson, etc.
hong li ling, just go to racwuet world in pertama kompleks.. most people buy their badminton things there
thanks for u telling.. can tell me which floor..? i wanna buy the blue yonex t shirt.. got the logo yonex at front 1..
/yea im also wondering where in vancouver, and hopefully somewhere else near maple ridge. I know places like tad's or w.e. might have...but i dont feel like going all the way to vancouver...
i seriously don't mind going out to vancouver to get shoes.... i just want some good ones... plus.. i'm not driving... haha... but i know you can get them in richmond at impulse.... but any other places...???
I'm using a pair of indoor athletic shoes made by Muzino to play badminton with (they've got that trademark yellow sole). Seriously, best investment on shoes I've ever made, and they're a lot cheaper than Yonex "badminton-only" shoes.
Tad's 8570 Granville St. (by 70th Ave, across from Safeway) -best selection of shoes AFAIK Also try: SE Sports 2nd Floor (near the food centre) Crystal Mall (Kingsway & Willingdon) -also check out their Kawasaki shoes ClearOne & Two, RichmondPro and Yumo in Richmond also have shoes, but their Yonex are usually more expensive than the 2 shops above.
really.... i got the shb-56 from cleartwo... and i thought it was cheaper than SE sports...not sure..
The trick to getting the cheapest price is to check prices at other places and then get your fav store to match the price. Tad's was selling all SHB-99s for $109 some time back, and I got SE to match their price no problem. The advantage with Tad's & SE is that they will give 10% off to regular buyers.
if cost is an issue, i would suggest getting asics instead of yonex. you can try their volleyball shoes as well, those are pretty well cushioned.
I tried this for half a season, definately not something I would recommand to anybody. New Balance tennis shoes for me were too high off the ground, lacked grip, couldn't stand up to the lateral pressure. Only took 3 months of playing for them to be complete wasted.
