Question What do you do with your used shuttlecocks?

What do you do with your used shuttlecocks?

    Do you throw them away?

Or do you keep them for further use?

For one with 1 bad feather, I keep it for next game warmup. For theose with more than 2 damage feather, put it in the recycle box for the junior or 10 and under kids to practice.

I use plastic shuttle only. For the slightly dead ones (ripped, missing parts or loss cork), I keep them for practice. Otherwise they go straight to trash can.

Sometimes I keep them for further use, depends on the storage quantity of all my birdies...But if I still have a lot of them, then they will go straight to the bin, just like Javalina said...hehe...

    Default Are shuttles worth recycling?

To reduce landfill, can shuttles be recycled? (that is, after it has been reused for warm-up.)

Can the cork be recycled? And feather (say feather filled pillow/clothing)? Since many people play in club/school environment, collecting them is already done after game. It's rather if recycling makes economical sense.

Depends how used. I usually save them until they're so bashed up that they're no longer any good for wallpractice, then toss them out.

someone told me that you can use the cork to plant orchid - same for cork from wine. However you need to clean them and soak into water first... Never tried it yet...

Used shuttlecocks are mainly used for warm ups and training/drills if they still fly decently.

My used shuttles get to regret their existence every 0.5 second as they come in contact with my brick wall...I use em until the cork flys off or when they end up on someones roof...(i sometimes do that on purpose)

...and yeap, I still abuse them after they've lost all their feathers...
