NC Tuff 8 & NC tuff 9 New rackets from Yonex I have seen these rackets.Yonex Mid range version of the nano series. Made in Taiwan. Anybody else seen it?
Its also available in Singapore (Artric Sports). Retail price before discount around S$120. overpriced imho. you can't find these models on the yonex japan website. believe these models are made by Sunrise for their markets in this region.

Yes I have seen both at Sportslink, and looking at the specification on the shaft, it says it makes of "nano carbon tube" - I guess the NC in the models stand for Nano Carbon. The immediate impression it gives me is these rackets are the 'poor-man' version of the nanospeed series, targeting those who cannot afford the high price range of the NS series, but still want to have a latest "nano" racket as well as the reliable Yonex brand name. Without playing with any of these, I reserve my judgement on their performance. But if this is a Yonex's marketing strategy, then it shows that they are concern about losing the mid-range market to the "clone" brands, such as APAC, Victor, Winex, Kason etc etc who can come up with all the various "nano-related" rackets at about half to one-thirdth the price of the NS series.
Funny... i saw these yesterday in the shop here, and i was just about to do a search on it here, and then you guys and gals came up with this... wow pretty fast! hehe... anyway, saw the NC TUFF 8 Light around RM 200 and the 9 Light at RM 280, if anyone's interested... does anyone have urther information, pictures, details, or links to related websites on these new rackets? and seriously, are they better than the Armortec 300 (me racket now)?

Picture in post #3 above. The white one is the foregroung is the NC Tuff 8 and the black one in the background is NC Tuff 9. As they are "Made in Taiwan", you would not see them in the official Japan yonex website. And like other mid range "Made in Taiwan" Yonex models, you also probably wont see them in North American retail market.
my friend has the NC Tuff 8, strung with the NBG 95, at 25 lbs, feels good, but a lil heavy compared to the At and Nanospeed... Plays well tho, coz my fren reached the final of a inter-school event here, using that racket, while i was just watching on, having lost earlier... dang...
i have seen one nctuff but not number eight, it's nctuff seven, of a friend, maybe the racquet is from singapour.
I think Yonex rackets made in Taiwan isn't woth the money. If you take other brand with the same price, you are likly to get better qulity.
my racket's a nc tuff 8,and despite what some people say that it is a "poor man's racket",i still think otherwise. those poor mans racket should be like the isometric 60.the nc tuff 8 is a good racket that specializes in smashing, but I do have to admit that it is not really an all rounder.If you think of buying a nano scince racket, i suggest that you get yhe nc tuff 9.
