i'm considering getting a ti-10 3U. since ti-10 is extra stiff, and that my skills are no where near that of a professional player, would it be wise to string it at a tension lower than i normally would on a less stiff racquet such as mp77? so that i won't have to rip out my arm trying to smash hard. i'm thinking about stringing the ti-10 two lbs less then i normally would(22lbs). can someone tell me if this will be a better idea? thanx!
I switched to Ti 10 from a classic shape racket years ago. I stayed with my usual tension of 22 lbs. It felt different at start, and then I gradually adopted to it. Now I string my ti 10 at 24 lbs. My feeling on the impact is rather more 'solid' than 'bouncing', perhaps makes you feel lossing some 'power', however, the speed of the shuttle is faster. In addition, you get a lot more control.
Whatever u do, don't string it with BG-68 Ti! It sucks with Ti-10 IMO!!! Maybe it's just personal preferences?
