My mom is never around to make food anymore after my parents split. My dads house is too far for weekdays. I need good meal ideas that are quick easy and somewhat tasty. 1. Eggs poached, boiled, scrambled, omlette 2. Tofu, fried 3. Boiled Broccolli 4. Boiled Spinach 5. Nachos 6. White Pasta Sauce (not from package) I need more food ideas! Kraft Dinner and instant noodles are good but they are always gone too quickly! I need a crash course in food creativity! I can cook fairly well if I spend an hour or so but I rarely have the desire to spend so long cooking!
How are nachos healthy? Anyways, fruit is always good, and sandwiches with lettuce, fried portabello (or any other kind) mushroom, cheese, egg (however you want it), sliced tomatoes, etc. Really tasty, and not too bad for one's health. Get some more ideas later.
as some of u may already knew, i have taken many life guidance from the simpsons family. Here is one of those, steak is easy to cook and a fail safe choice. Marge: Homer, I have to go out to pick up something for dinner. Homer: Steak? Marge: Money's too tight for steak. Homer: Steak? Marge: Eh, suuure... steak. http://download.lardlad.com/sounds/season5/scouts1.mp3
LOL! Isn't steak only if you're on the Atkins diet? I personally don't follow it myself, but I don't quite understand how steak is healthy either. OR was that a joke, and I missed it? LOL, I'd be scared to visit you Cooler, living like the Simpsons.
how does a slab of lean steak not healthy? I dun follow atkins diet. Only people who dunno anything about foods might follow atkins diet. Bruce lee eat mostly meat, he's no atkin dude.
Eh, I dunno. Doesn't seem right, eating meat all the time. But I guess LEAN steak is good if you temper it with other stuff. Maybe it's just me that gets "huo qi da" (Fire energy thingy that's not good for you body) when I eat too much meat.
i gave only one of many choices in the food chain. If u watch the simpsons show, u will see that their family eat other stuffs too
ugh, boiled veges. About as tasty as ... boiled veges (no, seriously!). Stir fry for more tasty results And it doesn't hurt to keep a bottle of soy sauce, sesame oil and oyster sauce around (clearly a typical asian background here)
i think steaming broccolli & spinach is a better choice. Light boiling is ok tho. Light stir frying broccolli is my best choice.
What?! Really? Eh, I'm Simpsons ignorant...Right. You know, you actually had me there, 'till I saw that last emoticon. Geez, I'm hopeless. Gosh, you're spinning my head in circles... Eh? Soy sauce? Bleh. I dunno, I personally don't think Soy Sauce is very good, I only eat it when I'm sick (only thing with flavor I'm allowed to have). But yes, stir fry (not too deep tho), or perhaps a salad with dressings? Add cheese, nuts, berries, fruit, whatever you like. You're right about that steamed part. No flavor.
And how would we know this? Anyways, I don't believe that whole wikipedia and the no more "wink wink" activitiy stuff, but I still don't like soy sauce. Anyways, back to the subject. How 'bout some frozen yogurt every now and then? Or fruit dipped in chocolate? I'm pretty sure the store sells those.
Learn to appreciate eating raw vegetables. After a bit of an adjustment, I absolutely love munching on raw broccoli. Wash, then cut it up, and sprinkle with some olive oil and pepper flakes, and eat it alongside your meat. Yummy! Get a blender. Some great stuff to put into there is: raw spinach, frozen berries, olive oil, ground flaxseed, protein powder, etc. Lots of room for creativity here. The spinach (or whatever vegetable you put in) might make the drink look weird, but the flavour is totally overpowered by the fruit you put in there. Plus, it makes the beverage more nutritious. The other stuff increases the fiber, protein and fat levels of the drink - making it a complete meal replacement or snack. Get a slow cooker. These things are amazing! Throw a ton of meat, veggies, legumes, etc. into there, turn it on and 6-8 hours later you have enough servings of stew/chili to last you 4-5 days. If you want a really quick, easy and healthy meal, get some meal replacement powders from your local sports nutrition store. By this, I mean the stuff with protein, some carbs, healthy fats, fibre, vitamins and minerals, not just protein. When you're busy studying for exams, food options can typically be going out for fast food or mixing an MRP in a shaker bottle. The second option is both cheaper and more convenient.
Hmm, I happen to cook most of my meals myself. Stupid college and their inaccesable food. My favorite list of cook and forget items that are easy are: Pasta Casserole Baked Potatoe Quesidillas Fried Rice Soya Peas Gucamole Baked Crackers Baked Salmon and of course the all mighty rice cooker where you can throw in some rice and : hard boil eggs steam water eggs steam veggies steamed tofu steamed etc.
The pasta casserole, baked potatoe (Can add cheese, other stuff, make it better), fried rice, guacamole baked crackers, and baked salmon don't sound too bad. And you can always add stuff to rice. Great ideas, I'd say. Indeed. Helps prevents cramps.
