Well so far I've owned 1 yonex polo shirt, 1 yonex v-collar shirt, 1 pair of shorts and 2 racket bags. For me, the v-collar shirt and the pair of shorts (which were a set), after a period of use and washes, the stitches start falling apart and now i've got cotton threads dangling loosely all over it. For both of my racket bags, after using them for like 2 - 3 months, the stitches in the interior just tear apart, exposing the inside material... And yeh, they were all authentic Yonex stuff... Dunno, but i have a feeling that the only quality Yonex product are their rackets (maybe it has a fact to do with it being made in Japan).... their shoes are alright too, at least not as susceptible to wear and tear..
Where did you buy your Yonex product? I personally find the quality depends on where it's made...like Japan, China, Canada, U.S. , Taiwan etc etc...
well i got most of them from HK... but then isn't most Yonex apparel made in asia? especially China? so the location where you got it from doesn't really matter...?!
Most Apparels does make in Asia. But might not come from the same factory. The product you got from HK isit from Sunrise Spore, Taiwan or CH ( China )?
The yonex shirt are not very machinewash friendly. Therefore, to make them last longer, stay with hand wash (warm water).
I have similar problem with my Yonex polo shirt. Bought from Taiwan for 3 months and washed about 10 times, and already some loose thread in the back shoulder area. The tag says fabric imported from Japan, and made in Taiwan.
Maybe when u squeeze too much when you try to dry it after wash? I tried not to squeeze too hard, and just hang it to let it dry over times.
are all yonex products like that? im looking to buy a shirt on ebay from hk. but im afraid the quality is only like how u guys said it is. so how??"
I've got two Yonex shirts and a couple of pairs of shorts, and they've all been through the washing machine about a dozen times, and I haven't had any problems with any of it. No loose stitching or threads, they haven't shrunk and the colours haven't run. I'm really pleased with it so far and have no complaints. It was all bought in the UK, don't know where it was made though.
All these shirts , better hand wash. Not advisable to have it machine wash. Even materials like Dri-Fit or Adidas will not last long.
i always thought the dryer would wreck the materials with the heat... polyester is a form of plastic, afterall... i just hand wash it, and hang to dry, squeezing out water from the bottom as the water "drains". it takes aobut 3-4 hours to dry.
I machine wash cold and use the dryer on low to medium setting on all my Adidas and Under Armour polyester-type stuff, no problems after 6+ months.
Somehow I know that was coming. I've yet to have any wardrobe malfunctions and don't plan to have any.
i think some materials shrink after putting in the dryer. but i wouldnt dare to put a yonex shirt into a dryer. too risky!
I have quite a few dri fit/polyester shirts along with a yonex set now and they have all been through the wash quite a few times. My dri fit shorts/shirt has been in the washer at least 50 times now with no sign of really bad wear. I also wash my dri fit/yonex stuff along with jeans and other heavy duty clothes and have yet to see any problems. Maybe it's because I stuff the machine so full of clothes there is no room for damage.
