No one has posted anything about the Jiangsu Team's Vancouver visit. There will be a demonstration match between the Jiangsu Team and the best (hmmm, more like turkey shoot for the visiting team) that the Province of British Columbia has to offer. The event will be in the first week of January, 2007. Head coach, Sun Jun, will come along for the fun (ehhh, more like vacation for the entire team).
BC Badminton Federation raised the airfare for the Jiangsu Team I think. VRC had a tournament on Saturday to raise funds for the living expense of the visiting team in Vancouver. It was a very fun tourney. Coach Ming booked the courts for the participants. So nice of him .
Will this include the National Players that are affiliated to Jiangsu Province (eg. Chen Jin). Or just the Province team players? Good luck to the BC Team!!
I believe Xia's wife - Jin Beilei is from Jiangsu. Wonder if the couple will make the trip as well? Btw, anyone knows about the visiting roster (or the proposed ones)?
Really - The Northern Wolff and the Gentle Panda may share the same court...? Sweet. A Bash it will be.
My apology. I was just teasing Master Dan to come out to the GWN. No, I don't think he will drop by . . .
The Jiangsu Team will arrive on Dec 27 and stay until Jan 5. They will rotate between different badminton clubs.
WOOO.... I'll be in BC till January 7th.. perfect.. I'd really like to see the demonstration matches (not be a victim ) wow this is turning out to be a very exciting holiday (in no particular order) a) join forces with the Wolff Clan for the C2 tourney b) Vancouver Canucks vs Dallas stars hockey game @ GM Place c) possibly watch the demonstration match at VRC d) EAT LIKE A KING!! did someone say... All You... CAN... EAT!!!?? e) visit family!
Unfortunately, this event will be postponed to February (around the 4th or 5th... for about 9 days). There were problems in getting VISAs... so no exhibition in January.
Well people, here's some news. CBC TV was at RichmondPro to do some taping of the match. They will air some highlights and a 5 minute feature on either Weds 14 or 21 Feb at approx 6:45 pm. It's part of the sports portion of CBC News. So keep your eyes peeled! More pics later this evening
