according to this http://www.yonex.com.au/bm_specs.pdf Yonex recommend 16-20 lb lower tensions will be safer, but not necessarily better for your performance. Note: ISo 30VF is graphite shaft, aluminium head.
Yonex Isometric 30VF re-string?? Hello Neil, thanks for the reference. I can use this. So it means my racket will break if I restring this with 23, using a BG80. Hmmmmn I wonder why the yonex assistant told me that the safest it can get is +25?
Not necessarily. Higher tensions increases the risk, but it is hard to quantify. Many people on this forum regularly string their racquets at tensions above Yonex's recommendations. Yonex offer a warranty on their racquets so they don't want everybody stringing at very high tensions and increasing the risk of breakage. That means less profit. All that said though, I don't have much experience with aluminium frames, so I don't have an idea of what is safe. The assistant may be right that it is OK at 25lb.
yeah. He said also said that if the racket breaks, he will replace it for free. i dont want it to happen though. consumes time and effort just to go and discuss there. thanks for your help. the attachment is very useful.
In my experience, aluminium frames/heads are a bit "softer" than today's graphite frames. IOW, I'm not comfortable stringing them to tensions >22 lbs. Then again I'm sure I'm not as experienced a stringer as the Yonex guy is.
Of course not. The metal frame are far less flexible than the well made graphite ones. Once you string the main for way too high of tension, the frame might not be able to restore to the normal shape, due to the high tension. Therefore, the racket will be either damaged, or wasted due to head shape change. Personally, I think 22lb is still fine, anything beyond that on a metal frame racket is very risky.
Thanks Guys... I will be buying a muscle power (Yonex) on January. It will be my tourney racket, should you have any suggestions... please do feel free to tell me.
