..ok guys, i don't know if anyone has brought this question up before or not..Just curious as to what do you guys say when you guys totally missed hitting the shuttle??..(yes, i was a victim of that and i'm sure some of you have done so before).. the most common answer i heard: "Oh, there's a hole in my racket's head.."..
Lol I do say this because it's true. At some of the courts we play in, there is a huge overhead 500w bulb over the midcourt on ethier side. So imagine trying to play a singles game with lots of defensive clears. My current excuses are that my shoes are still new (because i switched from super low SOTX shoes to SHB-99, which are quite a bit high, especially in the heel) and I just regripped my racket (because I tried to take the original grip off my SOTX and replace it with just overgrip to get the same size, which is impossible; has anybody been able to to get a SOTX racket to the same grip size as a 3G with med overgrip on?)
Yeah I often lose it in the lights. Some people use it to their advantage at club night and hit it up their on purpose . But when I completely miss otherwise... yeah I usually just say "s**t" in a jokey sort of voice.
I usually say "Aiyaya" then "Sorry, my bad" to apologize to my partner in doubles. In singles, I say "crap".
I'd say, "Oops, sorry", and laugh Even pros do that, I remember watching Susi Susanti missed a backhand shot, I think it's at the Jakarta Open ... long time ago, she was playing doubles, I don't remember her partner. She was fine, didn't say anything, and just moved on ...
one of 2 things: 1) small curse but more probable, 2) some lame excuse like "im still rusty, need to warm up more" or "i lost it in the lights"
Dang! This is a light racket! (True, when I switched from my old Carlton [94g] to my SOTX 5A [84g], I kept missing a lot of shots 'cause I swung too quickly).
