It's starting to soften up a bit - hasn't bled in a while (not today during squashanyways), but still kinda stings.
All else fails I'll seal it with liquid band aid or crazy glue. Given the way I sweat, tape never stays on properly.
I'm hitting it with glycomed during the day and the tape/vaseline at night. If anything my wife will appreciate me having soft hands.

Wash more dishes! Fairy liquid helps your hands go soft...or so they say!
Seriously though, as someone else has said, I would've thought a couple of days of Vasolene would fix it. Same principle as chapped lips I guess.

The best way to deal with an open wound is to cease and desist until healed.

Bruised, still ? Rest it. I am sure the hurt will go away soon.

I have the same problem. I had towelgrip on my racket for 3 months. and dried up towelgrip plus magnesium powder really turned into sandpaper: all my fingertips were red/pink and clearly missing the top layer!
afetr much hurt, spliiting and stuff it finally went away: I was so sick of it I put my hands in a tub of biotex and soda. now all I have left is a deep split in my thumb.
I also got this stuff called Nestocyl. it softens up the hard edges of the wood, has a slight pain-killer, and promotes healing...

Just an update on skin creams....although it may be pricey, you may want to look into these products:
http://www.kiehls.com/_us/_en/catalo...et&prdcode=295
and (the one i bought)
http://www.kiehls.com/_us/_en/catalo...et&prdcode=522
seems to take care of the majority of problems to our racket hands when playing during the winter.

Try using vaseline, just put it on your hand before you sleep. I know it rubs off a bit and it doesn't feel the greatest but it works. Also don't use regualr hand soaps to wash your hands. Use the dove's new hand washing lotion.

The best moisturiser I've ever used is the E45 dermalogical cream. Apply whenever necessary. Best and safest I've used. Even soften my right palm after using towel grips~
