heyy lookin for a new racket... hehe, iam beginner ish, though i practice regularly always trying to improve, iam small, play doubles, good at netplay, dropshots etc, have quite good precision but lack power, though i dont want a racket that will take away from the precision of my shots. can anyone help?
What's your budget? I got sucked in with the allure of Yonex rackets and started with a crappy racket, went to a MP100 for a while, then switched to a MP99, which I mainly use today. I've never tried the lower tier Yonex rackets, so I can't give a review, but quite frankly a racket won't really improve/hurt your game right now unless its made out of steel and fishing wire. Nonetheless, if you can afford it, you can consider getting a nice racket to show your commitment and 'reward' yourself with. But if you do that, make sure you get nice shoes too! Welcome to the community - how big is badminton in Scotland?
cheers, i think il try iso head an try out differnt stuff, budget, havnt priced myself i jus want a racket that will suit my needs. badminton in scotland? hmmm its not the biggest sport everyone has football or rugby on their mind.:crying:
ok soo asking another question: iam a defensive player, so it should be headlite, and flexible but any recomendations on an actual racket or....
The MP88 is head-heavy and medium flex. The NS7000 is headlight but stiff. Saphira, if you want a YY that is headlight and flexible the MP44 fits the bill. My wife uses one (3U) and she finds it feels lighter and faster than my 4U MP88. It's great for defense, and the flex shaft allows you to generate power easily.
An Iso head racquet has a generally bigger sweetspot and is more forgiving on off-center hits than an oval head. That should make it better on defense IMHO.
