I recently took off the original grip from my SOTX racket and have been since then trying to use a combination of overgrip to ragain the size. Because the ridges are gone now I've noticed that the grip seems too small. My ring finger can basically scratch my calm while holding my racket. So my question is how big should the grip be for it to be comfortable, generally. (for sake of reference because I have no ruler right now, using my thumb and pinkey, I can hit the esc and f10 key on my keyboard). thanks in advance

Double or triple tape (go in alternate directions) the grip until you get it to the size your comfortable with, theres no hard rule about the size the grip should be.

I'm a silly american and we don't have A4 paper, I do however have a letter size. So, around 10 inch span or 25ish cm.

Is there any way to avoid the squishiness of using that many layers of grip?

Buy a bigger handled racquet in the first place.........

Several layers of electrical insulation tape.
Or the more professional heat-shrink grip enlargers, more common for tennis, but you can get them for badminton/squash also.

If replacing the original grip with an overgrip reduces the grip size, then why not use a thicker replacement grip, as distinct from an overgrip? It is not a problem if both your ring finger and middle finger, but not the pinky finger, can touch your palm on the thumb side while holding the racquet. That extra empty space in your hand will provide you with added acceleration of your wrist snap.

Go to local sport store, get a tennis replacement grip. It is same as the badminton replacement grip except it is longer. Just cut off the extra end. It cost about $5-$7 USD. Give it a try and if it does not work out, you are only $5 down. Try SD badminton supply for badminton replacement grip or this place in SD.

Ask which grip is thin or thick that fits you.
