After KK/TBH's big win, which left everyone gasping in disbelief, I think Malaysian badmonton has turned a new cornerstone. It is time to rejuvernate - men doubles is never going to be the same again. Malaysia is now ready to enjoy victories and with it, we hope will pull along the men singles too. LCW must be ready to lift, he was overhauling Taufik at the end of the 2nd game. It is hard to disagree.
KKK/TBH don't be like hafidz, after making a history by wining the first MS AE champion, he never plays well again.
Maybe our incentive system do not encourage consistent performance....when Nicol retained her World title. that is worth only RM20,000 - less than a silver medal in Asiad !!!
My only hope that the Sport Ministry will not interfere with the badminton team and let Kim Hock, Rexy and CSK continue to plot the future, while saying this Hafiz need some 'fire' to burn him
hopefully in the right direction... after watching so many false dawns, hopefully this is the beginning of something special... hehe... ... with an Olympic gold! Or a WC/AE gold... Koo and Tan have a great bright future ahead, possibly for 10 years (or even more) and challenge for honours... Add that to Faruzizuan/Lin, Zakry/Gan, and Chan/Hoo, we have a lot of quality MD pairs for the future... No make it now!
The only thing that the team have to improve is the Single's Department. The Double's department need alot of polishing. At the moment the doubles are not so consistent.
ah ya forgot them! hehe... Tan/Ong are also a good pair... weren't they World Junior Champions at one point?
With the next tournament in Malaysia next year (and to be held in KL as well), Malaysian fans will be looking forward to that. This is because LCW is unbeatable in Malaysia (and with his recent close games with Taufik and LD, it will happen again). And KKK&TBH look like they will be unbeatable too. What a tournament to look forward to. The other thing which is unbeatable is the Malaysian crowd ! They are so one-eyed it will take GOD to hold them. Many good players are likely to stay away coz they know they would have to raise levels to "Olympic" to win. And it is hard at the start of a new year after all the New Year Festivities (good food and all).
Regarding Hafiz, is he injured ?, the way he played its like he is protecting some kind of injury (maybe his knee) ??? well anyway MAS need more single player ..
After watching him closely, I think the problem with Hafiz is his mental fitness. He has this habit when he is tested, he plays trash. It is almost like he caves in quickly. For me, it is a clear case of mental capitulation. He needs to see a psychologist to prepare him better. I suggest a strong dose of hypnotism to toughen his belief in himself.
I think during the team event, the team must have got a "hair dryer" hot air blowing on their heads from the ministry. Well done for winning it and keep up the fighting spirit. This time sure boleh wan...
