    LB's right...

When I was younger I was pretty amazed when I broke my racquet string for the first time.. perhaps you could say slightly proud about it? I mean, wow! At that age I thought I was that strong. Now I think it was probably lousy strings. Lol!

Now it's a hassle whenever my strings break. Sometimes I'll groan if I see the strings starting to fray around the sweet spot.

erm...last two months have been from 1-2 a week...
    but then bg66 and bg85 aren't that long-lasting...
I'd put my figure around 50...but then it has only just started:p:eek:

    1-2 a week? That's incredible!!!

Either you've got an awesome overhead or are a master of shanking, heh.

We girls never break strings... I break one every few months, but it's always at the top and more due to abrasion from picking the bird up off the floor with my racquet/throwing my racquet into walls/throwing it across the court/generally abusing it. But a lot of the guys at my club usually break one each tournament, for sure.

    either that...

    or I play 17 hours a week:D

and like my (evil) coach said "he doesn't smash hard...just a tad steep, should be easy for you" (in a smash-drill where I was smahsing at some bloke)
So I don't hit that hard..I just play a lot (above average at least:rolleyes: ) and fancy thin strings...

though I must say I've had it with bg66...

Makes sense. I play about that, too, and I haven't had any problems with bg65... although I suppose, again, the whole being female/having no innate upper body strength is probably a rather large factor :p

And I hope you can find something that lasts a little more long term, heh, that must get incredibly frustrating.

the fun sorta ended after a couple of breaks..but I still have 2 packs of bg66 left..so I figure: why not?

anyway..there're worse cases on the forums...who count string-life in hours...

Well, BG65 is designed to be last "forever". :p If you don't slice much, and/or not go for high tension, then it suppose to last for at least quite a while. But seriously, I don't feel a string for more than 2-3 months old to be "playable" any more. Guess that I am just spoiled by my string machine. :p

    January-June: mostly BG85

    July-Now: mostly BG80 and MicroPower

i alternate between 4 or 5 racquets about evenly. all using bg66, bg85.
i restring a few of them at the same time, usually once or twice in two months or so?
however in the last two months, i've broken six sets, which is rather unusual.

total in my life? i never really kept track. but i'll say "more than i'd like to have. its expensive". haha

For us, stringing is $23 and a pack of BG-65 is about $12, so with tax it can be near $40.

Therefore, how can you afford all that stringing? That's crazy!

Now that I only play about 4 hours a week I can usually get about 3 months out of a set of strings, go back to when I played/trained more and I probably broke a string every month or so.

Worst record was about 3 hours before snapping a main (not over tight either). Mind I've broken a couple of racquet frames much quicker than that.
