hIe all.. i've visited our country's "Muzium Sejarah" or in english is "Historical Museum of Malaysia" recently.. n I've found this~! if I was not mistaken.. this is taken during 1998 Commanwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur.. but.. the problem is.. who r these two person...??
Razif and Jalani. Jalani is the one to the rear of the court. Are you sure that was taken in 1998? It looks more like 1982 or 1984. John Player is a cigarette brand. It wasn't allowed to advertise in badminton after mid 80's, or maybe even earlier than that.
walao..dun b so fast.. will scare de le.. haha..jux kiddin.. the by da way..thx ya.. guys n gals out there.. u r most welcome to post any details or photos regarding history of badminton here..
haha.. sure at 70's..? their old badminton jersey jux like casual wear.. keke.. n no sponsors for the team that time..? there's no any logo on it
Razif and Jalani Sidek Hi blessing, If it was taken during the Commonwealth Games, it should be either @Brisbane, Australia 1982 or @Auckland, New Zealand 1990. In both ocassions, Razif and Jalani Sidek won Gold Medals for the Mens Doubles. Cheers... chris@ccc
If you look at the racquet, it's the original carbonex 8. I think that came out around 1981/2. Need to find that thread on history of yonex racquets.
I liked the old pics. All so formal and nice. I love the Thomas Cup 1948 picture. Look like Mafia gang.. ahhaha.. scary.
Now we save the MAS team photo then after 50 years post out hehehe But by the time, i should reach 80 years old already
I like the Malaysian Old Pics Greetings, Hehehe...... Punch Gunalan with his full crop of hair. Thank you ixory. Cheers... chris@ccc
Compared to the featherlight rackets we use today; NS, Ti, Carbonex, etc...Punch's baseball bat heavy wooden rac, if I use that stuff today, all my backhand will barely reach the damn net...those Thomas Cupper with tie and jackets in the heat and humidity of MAS, they must be cooking...hahaha! LOL!
