    hey guys,

i have just brought my new racket with the nanospeed string. i found out that some rubbers (heh .. i dont know the term of the component anyway) which is installed inside the hole of the racket have been torned. i just wonder whether it may cause my new racket running out of shape?

ps: newbie here, glad to meet you guys around :)

Nope; but your string durability maybe compromised.

Oh you mean the grommet splitting? It's typical but if it is split that it has a sharp edge(s), then that would be a problem for the string as you will notice the string would break unexpectedly if you hit somewhere around that location with the shuttle. Then you would need to have the grommet replaced on the next string job.

Welcome, there called gromits and should be replaced next time your racquet goes for stringing. There main purpose is to keep the string away from the sharp edged of the carbon fibre or aluminium of the frame which will in time cut the string.

glad to know replies and comments from you all anyway. it's pretty helpful info. :)

    sifuyono :
a greet tip over here. problem is that the string was attached quite tight, i dont think it's quite easy to twist the grommet.

When your string breaks or when you cut it, then twist the grommet. In the meantime, enjoy badminton :).

If your racket is geniune and brand new, obviously avoid the stringer next time. If the stringer can split the gromments on the very 1st job, then s/he did not do the job correctly in some ways.

better twist it after the string broken, it's difficult to find shop that just sell one piece of yonex gromett, u must buy 1 pack (even ns9000 still difficult to find its grommet in my country)
