My strength-pro Training-racket came in the mail today!
    Yippie!
So far I’ve only test-swung it, will see tonight how things work…

    About me:
I’m Jerby, 17 years of age, and play ~8 times a week. My playing level is B around here, though power-play isn’t my srong-suit…
I bought the strength-pro to excersise my wrist to get a faster/more explosive stroke…

    Initial impressions/measurement:
-the yellow-version looks very cool, with yellow overgrip…
-The weight is 160grams…I’ll take Matthew’s word for it ;)
-the balance is at ~310mm, with karakal-PU-supergrip as a standard grip (good cushioning!)
-the racket is 675mm long, but the shaft is very short, while the rackethead is very long
-stiffness is normal, though hard to compare with such a weight…

Swinging certainly isn’t easy, but it sure is an effective exercise/warm-up tool. Just to check, for fun: swing it backhand drive 10 times…switch to my 2U woven-11.
GOOD LORD: my woven 11 feels like a 5U!

It feels really weird: when you pick up the SP it feels 1.5-2 times heavier than my w11..but when you switch back if feels my w11 is 3 times lighter!

I’ll be using it all week, and longer, I’ll try and update a bit…

A bit about www.strength-pro.com (not affiliated, just a customer) The service is excellent. The post had a freak-accident with my first racket (got lost, though Matthew had the correct address) and he send me a replacement before the first one was returned to sender! Great service, mailing-speed is also pretty good!

*what I’d like to see in the next version:
    -yellow string
    -Yellow standard grip
    -brighter yellow racket
-Higher standard tension, fi you're nuts enoguh to spend ~$100 on a training-tools you'll most likely string 24lbs yourself..not 18lbs
-shinier racket, we need Glitter! :p

NOTE: I know there're lost of training-racket-topics...but I don't want to raise any dead, sending notifications to 50 people who aren't interested;)

I don't really know anything about this... but thanks for the details.

Also... 8 times a week, that's crazy! You're well on your way to the big times with a schedule like that, heh.

Speaking of training rackets, thanks to Viper, he picked up a few Kimoni Training Rackets. I tried the TR-135 and TR-150. 135 and 150 grams respectively.

Both are heavy but not too heavy for me as my squash racket is 189grams. I opted for the 150 initially but the head was too heavy for the shaft and the shaft overflexed. I was concerned the shaft would snap or warp so I opted to keep the 135. The 135 is a true 140grams and I thought it would hold but to no avail. After just using it for about 2 hours, the shaft is bent and the racket is warped for basically defending smashes. That aside, it's a great training racket. I can do everything, drop, clear, smash...it's just heavier.

The Kimoni racket is about $60-65USD shipped so it's a pretty good deal but I just wonder about the shaft. Hopefully it'll hold up.

Jerry, how's the SP holding up? Any issues with the shaft being too flexy?

stiffness is , now I bend it, pretty good...

a woven 9 bends more, and it's roughly equal to the woven 11...so pretty stiff if you ask me...

    I don't have overflexing-problems...

It'll probably never get more than this, college is coming...

I think I'll restring it today, see how it holds up:cool:

Sounds interesting. I assume from puppysports? Was planning to buy some rackets from there anyways, might be worthwhile to get one to try.

    Strength-Pro purchased tooo..

Just a quick note on this topic,I used to use a 190gms squash racket for years and got on with it well..But recently I came across a thread a while ago mentioningtraining rackets and as I had never seen such a racket I was interested straight away....I was pointed in the direction of the Strength-pro site and Viola,Im now a happy owner of the racket...really pleased with it..

Hey guys, I've been using a StrengthPro for the last 6 months or so. I have used squash and other training racquets in the past and have to say this one is by far the best.
The main positive for the SP is that the weight is very well distributed giving it the balance and feel of a normal badminton racquet. I use my SP most days when I train, largely for defensive and driving exercises and this area of my game has definitely improved.

    www.kason.com

I use both kason training rackets. The 130 gram version comes in a orange/white paint while the 150 gram version is light blue/white.

Nowadays, I regularly use the 130 gram version for both drills and actual games and has helped my game alot. Even at 30lbs tension, it holds up well.

I use the 150 gram version for warm-up wrist drills. But aside from that, its just gathering dust. :)

    As to both being "Dink-Proof", let's see what happens. :) :) :)

Oops. Wasn't paying atttention. www.richardvaughan.net/ is the site that gave me the info on Kason's training rackets but curiously, kason's main site doesn't even mention it.
