In general, yes. In real world, BG68ti has good power and no control. IMHO, it is a offensive string. BG66 has good power with lower tension and good control with higher tension. Might not be a good string for big smasher because it break easily. You make your call.

why would it be offensive? good repulsion is usefull for every stroke...
who would say "nah, I'm a bit of a defensive player, I'll choose that dead string" ?

    play what you're comfortable with...

Not all charts are created equal. A chart is just a guide. Each person is different. With that said, I've been using BG-65Ti and it's pretty darn good...this coming from a guy...errrr...panda that does not prefer Ti strings. :)

A little question that's not really worth it's own topic:
    I'm now using BG65 @ 10kg's
Thinking about trying out BG80 for a change, but not quite sure on what tension I should go with, the same as I did with BG65, more, less.....

Go the same. You will enjoy BG80, you will get 10-20% more power, better feel, response, everything. Only thing is you lose about 25-40% of the durability, depending on how you hit, etc...

I think Yonex say to use BG80 at 10% less than what you would use BG65 at.
    If memory serves...

The reason is to ensure reduced creep and resilience difference between the Vectran material and the other nylon multi filaments, because Vectran has almost zero creep whereas nylon creeps much more. But if you change your string frequently, who cares?

if you string it 10% lower, why use bg80?;)

I just strung it at the same tension..and loved it..

BG80 and BG85 strings have greater resilience than nylon strings, which means they provide equal resilience with lower tension, just like natural gut to nylon. Of course you can string it to higher tension. What they are saying is that if you use BG65 at 30lbs/33lbs, you should reduce tension to 27lbs/ 30lbs if you switch to BG80 or BG85, to have similar resilience.

I know what they mean, but if you string ti lower to have the same resillience...then why switch to bg80 at all?

For better feel, control, power, and consistency in resilience (Vectran has much lower creep and hence its resilience is consistent whereas BG65's resilience will be 5% poorer say after 50 hits). That "comfort" feel and touch of Vectran is not found in nylon even if both strings are "tuned" to have equal bounce. Nylon is hard, jarring vs Vectran.

ohh wait..I thought "resilliance" included feel/power....

    my bad...

I still liked it at the same tension though, to me it didn't feel as a major increase
