I have some lousy rackets and some other "not bad" rackets that i was unable to sell so i have to keep. I have put them in a box in their normal case under my window away from any sunlight. I am going to cut the strings off all of them soon......

Any other things i should do to maintain them?

    thanks

Hmm put them in a show case thing I guess, in a air-tight like box. As long as the rackets don't get oxygen, they will last long.

Hmmm, interesting... You maintained your rackets by cutting the strings off them! What happens when your car needs a service - do you slash the tyres and take a hammer to the carburettor?

Well you see, you have to take it this way Scamp. The strings put tension on the frame. Byro cuts the strings, because (i think) he doesnt want the constant pressure on the frame. Thats why he cuts them, so its stress free :)

Scamp, its like storing a car...u drain it of all the fluids so it doesnt sit at the bottom of the engine.

Take off the old grips so that smell doesn't get unbearable and so that mould doesn't grow on the grip,...Yuck!

I left the plastic on the grip. You know, the plastic that comes when you 1st buy the racket? So i doubt the mould will be a problem

    do they become obsolete?

How long before rackets become obsolete with the improvments in new models?

    Re: do they become obsolete?

Hmm, depends really on the consumers...... Here in Singapore, we have some people who prefer to keep up with the latest all the time, buy new rackets and sell the old. Some people like me like to have my personal favourites in my bag, like my Slim-10, Cab 21 Special, Ti-10 and MP55. Their good enough for me...... Then again, there are some people who just buy a racket and use it till it breaks.....
