I've stringed my racquete with a feiton speed,0.68mm thick..n i told my stringer to pull it to 25lbs.It felt stiff at the first days, but after i used for about a week,it looses tension.I'm kinda confused,as my coach uses the same brand of string, but his one is 0.70mm thick, pulled to 25lbs as well, but still feels much stiffer than mine.We r using the same brand of racquete, but his is much more expensive than mine.Is it about the racquete?or is it because the thickness of the string itself. Mine is http://kason.com.cn/en/products_detail.asp?id=505,and his one is http://kason.com.cn/en/products_detail.asp?id=501 Can anyone experienced the same thing,or explain about this? Ur replies will be much appreciated!
When the racket is first stringed, the string will stretch and stablize. So when you said about a week, that is about correct as the tention drops. Also during this time, the string may not be at it's optimium yet because it has not broken it yet while it is still stretching. Speaking from a string perspective. Most likely you're feeling it's tighter because the string is thicker. Have you heard the tone of what the racket makes makes when you strike the string bed? Assuming those two are same racket, same stringer who pulled it at the same tention, the thinner string should have a higher tone since thinner strings pull tighter.
Different playing style (hard smashing vs. non), different string (eventhough same brand, but obviously different models) different stringer (might be), and different string machine (i.e. consistant pulling vs. non) all can contribute to different string tension lost rate.
Here is what I have observe before. If you look at the coach vs student, student like to smash more. Coach like to block and DINK! the shot back to make student run to the net. Then student will try to make a high deep clear then the coach make a well positioned slice to finish the point. Get the picture? Also, student break a lot more strings then coach too...
i restringed it twice already. We both got stringed by the same stringer.I play a hard smashing type.Yes,i guess mine still sounds good, but it's just that i felt like it's losing tension. So,there's no relationship between the loose tension and a racquete?
I currently use the 0.68mm too..but it's feiton's.It's popular for ppl here. Some says that it's better than yonex.
The key factor for a string is the material and structure. The thickness is less important regarding tension lost.
your coach's racket is the same as yours? the reason might be because your coach racket is stiff yours is more flexible, other reasons are because like you said yourself, his string is 0.70mm, and he strung it at the same stringer?
One brand but different serie.Mine is carbon 3.0,which is more flex. His one is TSF 300A,a bit flex but mainly stiff cos it's used for offense. So,u're saying that somehow the flex and stiffness of a racquete does have something to do with the loosing tension?
] nope, but even if its the same string and tension, since your coach's racket is stiff, it will feel different; harder
