Grips

    umm hi.. im new here and its my first time using this forum

    and i would like to ask u all sumthing about grips...
    Normally when i play, i uses the universal grip when im using forhand but my grip change to backhand grip or short backhand grip when i uses back hand. However, can ne1 tel me whether it is alrite for me to change grip in games especially when the short grip hurt my hand below the wrist when i tried to turn my wrist to receive the bird...

    the problem could be ur grip on the racket is too thin, try adding an overgrip ontop of your normal grip. U can buy them quite cheap on ebay some good yonex 1s.

    + the only time u use a backhand grip is for a backhand drive shot. A backhand grip for a backhand clear or smash will not be as powerful as a forehand grip. This is because of the angle the racket hits the birdie when it connects. You want the racket face to hit the birdie square on impact, the backhand grip wil not allow this.

    Hope this helps but try thickening your grip should help with the pain. My friend had same prob and he added an overgrip, got the problem sorted.
