I wish there was a winning strategy everytime.

Unfortunately upsets do happen every now and then and players can make a comeback even after losing the first or second game.

One must expect one's opponent to be able to do the unexpected. So to be consistent, a player should reduce as many unforced errors as possible. To play every stroke as best as he can to force his opponent into errors and to reduce his chance of attacking. He must be attuned to the situation and take advantage of it when opportunity arises and play to his strength. Sounds easy and simple but difficult to comply because there is no set pattern and the match is dynamic.

The burden is actually greater cos Msia never won OG gold or badminton WC before and badmnton is seen as the one and only sport with hope of winning gold. If LD dont win gold, his team mates from WS & WD will sure win. Even if worse come to worse, badminton dont win gold in OG, China has other sports to win another 30 to 40 gold, no sweat.

LD himself said, LCW is usually the only one left, he alone has to bear the whole burden, as in if LCW lose, Msia lost, finito. If LD lose,China still have hope in CJin, Bao CL(this was bf Bao retired & CL rise up),Fu, Cai.

True. Not like we see many MAS flag in finals unlike those red flag... how can compare total citizenship to this? Irrelevant... Whole country play badminton meh? and to say that his burden is peanut sized? huh?! Some just don't get it as they are not wearing his shoes. *shrug those off my brain*

You can't use those to weight the burden of lcw or ld or anyone

If anyone has a burden of 5 kids to feed, another 5 won't matter accept make him bankrupt

Lin Dan got a big ego. He need to win this in order to solidify him as 'the greatest'. So die die he need to win. Same goes to LCW and CL. CL can potential win 2 or 3 olympics 'if' he wins this OG12.

LCW is only there to make up the numbers. His winning record will be there a long long time before the ZZ boy can match him? Will he? lol.

For the past many years Dato' has been playing, whenever Dato' lost (especially if its a frequent pattern of defeat to a same player e.g to Sony few years back, not to mention to LD especially and currently now to Cl) will Dato' blame his coach for his defeat?. Honestly, Dato' will not. At his current high standard of play and the maturity he has as a professional trained player, he knows very well that he can have any world class coach there are in this world training and advising him constantly but at the end of the day, when Dato' is playing against LD or CL or anyone, its not his coach that will stand inside the court wearing Dato' striking yellow shoes and painstakingly moves all of his limbs to all 4 corners of the court, swinging Dato' Armortec 900 racket playing against Dato' opponent and since, it is Dato' himself will need to do it, the outcome of the match reflects directly from how Dato plays.

If it's a win, then credit to Dato'.....but if it's a lost, then the blame also will lies on him and whether it's because he does not listen to his coach or does not trust in his own abilities or whatever, its impossible psychologically to know why and only Dato' himself knows why.

Playing in every final or at least every semi-final this year is not consistent enough?

Indeed it's consistent however, the issue here, is Dato' can consistently able to beat both LD and CL when Dato' meets them again?. Judging by the recent meeting, i dare to say that if Dato' meets either both of them in all the early rounds in all the SS and PS tournaments in 2012 (which it is unlikely), but if it does happens then unlikely he will able to win any as far as analyzing from his current form is concern.

Summary of the year 2011 for Lee Chong Wei: A brilliant and stellar performance at the start of the season put to shambles by Lin Dan. It was a very bitter medicine for the patient to take at the end of the day as the World Championship 2011 is the only tournament LCW has painstakingly worked so hard to win. Confidence shaken and now plans to delay his retirement by giving another shot at the World 2013 which means good news to every Malaysian supporters.

However, recently everybody knew Guangzhou won the bid to host the WC 2013 and the resurgence of Chen Long. That might sound like another deliberate attempt to stop LCW from getting a happy ending. Will he be able to rise up to the challenge in 2012? We can only hope and see.

These article about Dato' Lee Chong Weo from Kosmo! Online in Bahasa Melayu. just sharing here. Direct translation using Google Translate:

Chinese champion, Lin Dan has not reached the end of his career but he now had the replacement as good he is.

Chen Long, 22 years old and its future in the sport of badminton is very bright.

Lin Dan was not need to worry because China excellence in the sport will continue in the presence of several junior players so much as Chen Long.

But the scenario in Malaysia is different.

Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) are more concerned than China.

Every day think of BAM in distress who will replace singles No. 1 country, Datuk Lee Chong Wei.

To date there is still no sign of who deserves competent junior title, as great like Chen Long.

If there was, they still have not qualified successor called lack of consistency on the international stage shows.

Prior to this, there are some names that considers qualified to be a backup to Chong Wei as Mohd. Arif Latif, Zulfadhli Zulkifli but "discipline" them on the international stage have yet to convince.

Performance is also less convincing than junior players who are able to conquer China the world at the age of early 20's.

Realizing the weakness, BAM has no choice but to continue to 'melanyak' Chong Wei in all competitions so sometimes watch the players No. 1 world that is not able to create victory. Throughout the year 'abused' to lift the name of Malaysia in the international arena.

When you have too often played, the game is easy to read style of the opposing players, particularly the main enemy, China.

Perhaps for these reasons, Chong Wei tame by young players of China, Chen Long at the World Super Series Final recently.

Chong Wei is not great but he was too tired, 'abused' during the year.

It is time for BAM to be brave enough to give confidence to the players playing the young nation on the international stage. If not, the replacement player will not reach maturity until they retired game.

Many who could be a model like Muhd. Hafiz Hashim, who consistently fail to show action on the international stage.

BAM should also be aware that Chong Wei has increasingly reached the end of his career.

He can no longer be deployed throughout the year. Chong Wei needs a rest and if possible, give him the flexibility to only play in certain tournaments.

Young players should be given more opportunity to play. No need to think first victory, which is important they should regularly be exposed on the international stage.

    Similarly, the women's line.

After Wong Mew Choo, Malaysia seems to lacking great player.

So far, I have not seen yet that could shake the world's successors after retirement Mew Choo.

If in China, women's singles players can be described as 'arose'. After retirement Zhang Ning, born players like Wang Shixian, Wang Yihan and Wang Xin and this time only able to conquer the world.

But our female players remains as a 'village champion'. Only one visible way may help ripen them is revealed the player on the international stage at the age of 17 years. If Chong Wei fell, then ended the domination of Malaysia.

agree with u too, this is what i mean, does TSB not realize on this? LCW need physco action to motivate himself during the match, why LCW always look down and dosnt make any action when winning every point, it look like give respect and chance to opponent to keep motivated during the match. u can see it during the 3rd set of SF WSS final when LCW catch CL 18-18, during that time LCW should put physco reaction to CL, for me that is a big point and can be turning point to win the game, just imagine from 10-15 down LCW keep chasing and catch CL at 18pt, LCW should win the game. once again LCW should change his character to more aggresive and fierce.

Don't forget CL and LD have a few very good coaches to help them. These coaches analysed better, gave better and more effective strategy for LD and CL. This is the reason we can see most of the China players looked at their coaches during a match. This is very obvious whenever he/she was not leading. This happened to LD as well. Malaysia or Denmark players seldom looked at their coach during the match.
A few points shall be considered when we discuss LCW:
    1) LD is trained under 汤仙虎. Whenever LD was down, he looked for this coach. This coach retired once before 2008 but LYB asked him to help LD in preparing 2008 OG.
    2) LCW ever said to reporter. He was alone in analysing his game most of the time. He needed to submit his analysis report to Misbun whenever he lost a game previously. Is the condition still about the same under TSB? We don't know.

I don't know if LCW is really a nice guy on court... He seems impolite to many of his opponents. Nowadays, I believe LD is for sure a more polite player on court..

Ruthless or not, it is going to be a history to be one great player who doesn't win many big tournaments. Karma perhaps??
