No offense,but the player photo gallery look kinda desolated to me,afraid that there'll be less ppl enjoying the pictures.Sorry..but hope that kwun might try to understand this.

If you post so many pictures in one thread, there are 3 disadvantages.

1) 56K users take ages to download. Thumnails would be better.
2) Even with my broadband, the pictures take time to download and the screen keeps changing.
3) When I opened the thread, I didn't even bother looking at many of the photos, especially when the big ones meant I had to scroll sideways as well.

So even if you had good intentions, your objective didn't really get fulfilled.

Agree with Cheung, on by broadband, it's just takes too long to see everything. Worst still, after waiting a while, everything seems to halt from loading. Clicking on refresh will start all over again.

Sorry to hear that cheung..but it's fast down here in china.The pictures will come out directly after the page is opened.I use ADSL w/ 512 kbps.Besides,the reason i keep it big is so that ppl wont have to bother clicking.N i think pics in thumbnails will take a longer time to load if ppl wanna see every single of the pics.Besides,i think the pictures here r not so big in size though.Prob most of them were like 50kb.I kept it this way so that they can just scroll down to take a look at those.Sorry if it might be unfair for some ppl..

Oh yea?It's probably bcoz of busy hours..when the connections is much slower.Same here though..that's why i prefer to surf at night.Especially after the taiwan earth quake,china's internet become so slow.But,luckily i still dont have the problems that u,cheung n other ppl might have.Hopefully u can still see most of the pictures thou..

..okay, as some of the pics show "older" great players who are probably not known to some of us in here...i just thought perhaps putting this thread in there will make people actually go in there and take a look..
It loads okay on my end..Actually this thread could be much4x longer, and loads longer, if you were to add the rest of the pics that are in this forum..
*The Lee Tsuen Seng pics are kind of interesting, lots of facial expressions, at least to me..

I decided to put it here cos myself visited the pictures gallery for few times n find that there's less update.While here,is updated everyday..which i believe that more ppl come to this forum,rather than the gallery itself.

...a few months ago, in another thread, Cheung had opened a query asking abt whether there should be a Gallery or Picture pages containing strictly Tournaments' pics or not. Unfortunately the idea didn't fly with BC members; main reason it will be too time consuming to do so. Now, since you mentioned abt doing another picture compilation, maybe Cheung might use your help in doing that particular task instead??..What do you think, Cheung??..

I don't think posting a few pictures within one post is any problem. When it gets more than that, I think we have to look at the reasons more carefully.

As it is, Smichz has already stated that the purpose of putting so many pictures into one post is to generate more hits on the thread.

a) Should that be the aim of a thread in badminton forum?

b) What if the majority of the pictures are not currently relevant or not fitted around a topic or certain players? Would that contribute to the forum or would it lower the standard of the forum?
