Hello everyone! Couple of question I would like to dwell upon. Just got my AT 700 4UG5. Is there a specfiic stringing pattern for the AT 700? I remembered uploading the template for at800s (de/of) and was going to refer to that type of strining pattern but should I resort to some different stringing method for this AT version. Not sure how at800s stringing pattern will affect on the at 700s. Secondly, I heard that the max. recommended tension is for AT700s is 24lbs?...Please validate. I wanted to string my racket with bg80s @ 26lbs. thank you for your time
You can use both patterns. I prefer to use the AT800 pattern for all rackets now. it reduces stress on the frame on the weak point of the racket. Skip your 10th main and go to 11th main then come back to 10th. That was the string pattern for 2005 world championships.
I believe there's some confusion and misunderstanding, no biggie. I always use the skipping method as does Yonex now for all its rackets:
Lots of time on my hands? How do you mean? I, we, would be interested to know more about stringing with an ES5Pro and any tips/suggestions you have. Thanks. P.S. What is tension increment on the ES5Pro? 0.1 lb. or 1lb.? Thanks.
wait, so you can use the at800 stringing pattern? Which is considered to be a better "setup" if you guys get my drift.
I don't call it the "AT800 String Pattern" but yes, on the mains, I always go from the 9th, skip to the 11the string then back to 10th and tie-off.
It will look a bit strange. Perhaps you mean from 9th, skip to the 12th and then back to 10th and tie-off?
The AT800 and other normal Yonex racquets have stringing patterns that are mutually exclusive. The reason is because of the additional grommets at the top corners of the AT800, which are there to increase the structural frame strength for doubles play where clashes are more frequent. In short, they are not interchangeable.
My bad, typed too fast, the correct way is, as you said: 9...skip to 12 then tie-off at 10. Thanks for catching my mistake.
Doh! Still sleepy, yes, tie-off at 8. Dang, that's what I meant. I need to play more BAD... To make up for my silliness I'll post a picture soon...off to BAD, time to take down Mona...yeah right.
