Well the orginal Cab 20 was a full graphite racket. The Tour was an improvement, Titanium had added Titanium and the long version was longer....... understand? j/k

But if your asking why its so popular amongst the professionals, its not anymore. Players like Xia Xuanze and Chen Hong have switched to the MP77 and Ti-10 respectively.

Just like Peter Gade switching from the Slim-10 to the MP77

cab20 was so popular amongst the pros, because it was such a solid racquet.
Durable, dependable, excellent control, and power.

It's probably the best all around racquet for players of any skill level, of all time.
Also back then Yonex probably payed most players to use it.

Now'a'days as mentioned by Byron, the newer racquets get the spotlight... could be because Yonex wanted another marketing push towards the Muscle Power series, so they pay the players to use those particular products instead of their older equipment.

    Just my thoughts.

PS: I'm also willing to bet that Peter "The Great" Gade, ran through the rest of the supply of the ever so fragile slim10... and finally asked for something new?? just speculating.

I second that. Out of curiosity, has anybody seen a broken cab20 original? I have seen it just once - (not my own!)

why are top players changing from it. Simple reason. It's become unavailable.
(But I did see Yoo of Korea still use one in the recent HK Open)

Were the other versions (Tour, Ti, Long) as popular? Not so much in the same way.

Has Peter G got through all the world's supply of Slim10? Maybe, but it did come in a "CN" version as well. Sogaard used a Slim 10. Maybe he broke them all clashing racquets in games of doubles.
(Sun Jun kept using Boron 2 way after nobody else could get hold of one)

I've honestly never seen a broken cab20 before.

    Perhaps a 20tour, and many 21s, but never a 20.

I guess they just dont make racquets now'a'days like they used to when the Cab20 was in mass production.

If possible I would like to try out the CN version, and the JP versions that Luxis is carrying.
However, I think I may want to bargain down the price... as they seemed to have raised them... could it be, that they are in really limited supplies?

It has stopped for some time already.

Point to note in history is the significance of the Carb 20.

It was the first one piece fully molded carbon frame construction badminton racket in the world.
