I need help stringing a karakal sl-70 :crying: ...can anyone tell me if there is any special stringing pattern to this? I don't want to string it wrong. So if there is anyone with info to help me, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I gave my Karakal SL-70 to a store in my city (What's your racket) but I didn't even know there was a correct stringing pattern for it. If you want I can take a picture of it tommrow when I get it out of my locker the pattern works for me at least.

    Hey, Thanks

If it isn't too much trouble, a picture may be what i need. thanks for your help:) ....although i am not sure if the racket had a special stringing pattern...it's just that a friend wanted me to string his racket and he said that the previous stringer doesn't know how to string karakal rackets:eek: ...so i thought there might be a special pattern to the racket....if anyone can confirm or further clarify this..it would be much appreciated.:D

I had strung karakal racquets before but not the SL-70. What I had to do was prestrung the racquet (for the pattern) and used the grommet size to determine the tie-offs. Following the grommets hint, I later had confirmation from the karakal official stringer that the pattern and tie-offs that I used were correct.

    Cheers.

This can be improved. The mains tie-offs are too distant from their respective last tensioned strings. You will have more tension loss.

Thanks alot for the pics. The Help is much appreciated. =). It looks like a normal stringing pattern but just 2 piece instead of 1....which is better since there is less tension loss.---I think i can do this now...haha. Thanks again for your help. I can't think of a way i could repay you..haha...thanks for taking out time to take the pics for me.

Really? Oh man that's really bad, the stringing job cost me $40 so I was hoping it would be near perfect :( (Unless 40$ isn't expensive for a stringing job)

No problem :D wish you luck on your stringing

Don't worry bobbert, it's not much tension lost, barely any i think.

I theory, yes. In reality, the extra tension lost is very minimal, if the stringer has decent knotting technique and clamps.

Wait, its only 5 grommets off and its arleady too far? Aren't knots usually that far?

And $40 to string a racket? God, I hope you don't snap those strings buddy!

It is not only the longer distance that is the problem. The bigger problem is that the last main strings at the sides were also the last tensioned mains strings instead of being used as a 'buffer' for the second last main strings to be the last tensioned main strings. The difference can be felt by testing the tautness of the two last mains strings at the sides.

So do you propose string patterns like the armortec 800 and ns8000 (i think its the one where the second last are the last ones tensioned) ?

No, just use the Yonex pattern for the AT700. To benefit from this the use of a machine with at least one fixed clamp is preferred.

Hahaha....ahhh crap.. Stupid m140. Makes me scared whenever I get to the last mains, frame starts bending. Not to mention two floating clamps!
