Hi, I just recently took off the original wrap and noticed that the wood was a metallic silvery grey. Is that a lead paint of some sort b/c based on my understanding, the handle is just wood with the shaft running through it I assume. I would say lead paint as ppl use lead tape to alter their racket balance in tennis so its just a wild hypothesis that yonex utilizes lead paint to counter weight of the racket body. Any clues? or perhaps its just paint
When i took my original grip off i only see a 2x4cm rectangle of the wood covered in the grey paint/tape somewhere near the cone. So maybe it really is used to balance weight to correct manufacturing errors... if so my racket head must be really really light lol still a guess until someone really knows comes out
the paint is what is used to paint the rest of the racket. it spills over to the handle in the process. lead paint isn't any heavier than normal paint.
