Challenges at Castro Valley High School To coach at Castro Valley High School requires a lot more than coaching knowledge. Refer to: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/11/30/MNGDFMM7I032.DTL . And quite q few people would prefer not to deal with this type of situation. Go figure.
isolated incident. none of the complaining kids made the team anyhow. having coached high school sports for over 16 years, 10 of them at castro valley, i can tell you this... kids & parents can only take over a team if you let them. period.
Of course people will not want to deal with a situation like that, it's like a self-fulling prophecy. Unfortunate.
i just talked to a friend on mine who was on the team last 3 yrs hes been there (hes a senior) he says that the practice schedule is decided by the coach but he/she has to negotiate with the volleyball coach for the gym. Also, the whole girls basketball thing won't affect badminton coaching.
yea the season has started but we have to wait till the 19th for tryouts. theres been some talk round the badminton players that there is a coach but im not sure about it
hey samkool, just out of curiosity, how did u kno who our coach is? we, the players, didnt even kno but u knew o.0 howd u kno?
i recruited him for you. it was a good thing you posted on here that you didn't have a coach, sam. your team should bake you a cake your new coach posted here about washington high school problems of last year, and said he would not return for this year. i kept his name handy because there's always a high school somewhere who will need a badminton coach. we are a scarce breed. it would be in the best interest of your badminton team to be cool and work hard. a major reason coaches don't stick around is due to the attitude of the students. i will be showing your new coach some group drills this week which will keep everybody active and not standing around at practice waiting for court time. i will also try to come out to cvhs a couple times to help out.
Thank You!! i'm a CVHS badminton player too - thanks so much, samkool (and the other sam ;D) for all your help. i'm sure i speak on behalf of the whole team - we're all extremely grateful and look forward to meeting you when you visit! =)
