MSQ-1 to take on Eric Pang in R32
Rather weak section. John Moody, Hong Ji Hoon and Roman Spitko contend for the spot.
Prediction: Hong Ji Hoon with homeground advantage

MSQ-2 to take on Chan Yan Kit in R32
Expect a showdown between Shon Seung Mo and Wong Choong Hann although James Chua and Yousuke Nakanishi have outside chances
Prediction: Wong (even though Shon has home crowd support)

MSQ-3 to take on Ng Wei in R32
Expect a Tan Chun Seang and Bobby Milroy showdown
Prediction: Milroy (although you cannot underestimate Tan)

MSQ-4 to take on Kuan Beng Hong in R32
Ronald Susilo vs Sony Dwi Kuncoro in the cards. Again! except this time, Ronald may not be so lucky to get direct entry to the main draw. Lee Cheol Ho can play spoiler but unlikely
    Prediction: Sony

    MDQ-1 to take on Spitko/Fuchs in R32
Koo KK/Tan BH major favourites here. Don't think Shirley/Gordon or Hopp/Kindervater can come close.
    Prediction: Koo/Tan

MDQ-2 to take on Gan TC/Zakry in R32
Tan BS/Ong SH also major favourites here although there are a couple of Korean pairs
    Prediction: Tan/Ong

    MDQ-3 to take on Sudket/Patapol in R32
Yet another Malaysian pair, Chew CE/Hong CH, are favourites with Lindley/Langridge the likely foe.
    Prediction: Chew/Hong

MDQ-4 to take on Chan CM/Hoon TH in R32
Han Sang Hoon/Cho Gun Woo to contend with Glenn Warfe/Ross Smith for this spot.
    Prediction: Han/Cho

There are 4 courts going. Matches are being run at 35 minute intervals and everything is on schedule. Last matches are men's doubles scheduled to start at 16:25.

John Moody was promoted to main draw, replacing Sairul Amar Ayob. So, Roman Spitko v Hong Ji Hoon for Q1.

Wong Choong Hann v Shon Seung Mo as expected for Q2.

Kim In Woo received a walkover from Bobby Milroy (wonder why). Kim v Tan Chun Seang for Q3.

Ronald suffered a shocking loss to Shon Wan Ho. It's Sony v Shon for Q4.

Lee Yun Hwa v Charmaine Reid for Q2.

Xing Aiying v Kamila Augustyn for Q3.

Diana Dimova (who got free ride due to Maria Kristin's PMD) v Lee Hyun Jin for Q4.

I guess it's one of those LYB's tactical withdrawals.

I'm tired of all these China players pulling out at the last moment. All it does is just screw up the draw because then top players aren't spread evenly across. BWF should impose some penalty for these sort of action, maybe minus some ranking points...

I feel they are really sick or unable to play. I don't see any tactical reasoning for pulling out in the first round.

This happens to China players much much more often than for players from any other country, so I really can't believe there is any other reason..

The obvious tactical reason is that China wants all their players to take top rankings. Had ZN not withdrawn, Zhu Lin would have run into her in semi final. Now the path is clear for her to make it to finals.
Of course it's easier to withdraw in the first round, rather than play a few games n suddenly withdraw as that would be more suspicious.

One question though, is the any penalty if a player looses a game ? , for ex, if ZN plays on and looses to Zhu Lin, how will ZN be penalized ?
