I can honestly say that this is the best racket I've played with. I've tried the 5000 as well which is the one up, but just prefer the 2500. My brother owns a sports shop specialising in badminton, so I've been able to try the top rackets including the Yonex and Carlton ranges, but these two gosen rackets are better than any of them. They give you alot of control for soft shots, while still giving you alot of power when you need it. The strings are closely nitted making your shots more controled. The only thing is that they are hard to find in shops.
Here in Singapore, Gosen products are scarce. But in the places where Gosen products are available, they seem to be overpriced...... I have a Gosen Roots 2000 that i'm supposed to be selling to Yogesh. Its a good racket in my opinion, powerful, but i don't find the close "netting" to be of any advantage.
I've found the rackets to be better value for money than other brands. My 2500 cost only £35.00, which is about $50. I could also get the 5000 for about £50 which is $75, but this in the UK. They are also very rare here though, i can only find them in one shop.
Barry, which shop is that? Does it sell by mail order and have a website? My sister has a couple of trips planned for the UK in the next two months, so that might be an interesting possibility, especially for only US $50. Thanks.
They sell mail order, I don't think they have a web site yet. They are called Wembley Sports, and their phone number is 0208 9080042. Address: 7 Neeld Parade, Wembley, London
Thanks Barry! That sounds awfully familiar - I think I might have visited that shop in the early 80's when I lived in London. I have e-mailed my sister and suggested this racquet as a possible Christmas gift.
