Jiangsu team to train & play at RichmondPro

As some of you already know, the Jiansu provincial team from China will be training in the Vancouver area and playing several exhibition games against the BC Canada Winter Games team. These players will be between the ages of 17 and 23 (10 players total) and headed by Sun Jun. Following is their schedule at RichmondPro:
Sat Feb 3 – training 2-4 pm
Mon Feb 5 – training 9-11 am
Tues Feb 6 – training 9-11 am, 2-4 pm, match v BC CWG team 6-9 pm
Weds Feb 7 – 9-11am
Fri Feb 9 – 9-11 am

We hope you can take some time to come out to see these amazing badminton players. It's not everyday we get players of such calibre visiting us. Thanks to Badminton BC and all involved in pulling this off.

Yes, they finally got their visa issues sorted and will be invading our shores in early Feb. Let's all turn out in force to support the event(s)

The Jiangsu team dropped by RichmondPro this afternoon for a light training session and some of our coaches' students had a chance to spar with them. Looking forward to their other training sessions next week and of course the matches against the BC CWG team.

Again RichmondPro hosts on Tues 6 Feb 7-9 pm.

Well people, here's some news. CBC TV was at RichmondPro to do some taping of the match. They will air some highlights and a 5 minute feature on either Weds 14 or 21 Feb at approx 6:45 pm. It's part of the sports portion of CBC News. So keep your eyes peeled!
