However, a killer panda is a different story. He use broken racquet as toothpic and broken string as dental floss. How much tougher can you get?

Is the Yonex Nanogy 98 a real nano string or does it just have a coating of nano dust on the jacket? The heart of a string is the inner core comprising hundreds of multifilaments or thousands of microfilaments. Only when all the center multifilaments or microfilaments are nano can a string be called a nano string. If not it is just hype, like titanium in BG68Ti.

Is the Vectran in BG80 just hype as well then? It is not in the filaments, only in the jacket.

This is from the NBG-95.
MATERIAL / CONSTRUCTION
CORE: High Polymer Nylon Multifilament
OUTER: Special Braided high Polymer Nylon Fiber
COATING: Compound Carbon Nano Fiber
I guess it'd probably be just the coating. I'm not so sure you could apply the nano-tech into the filament either way.

The sliver of vectran in BG80 and BG85 is part of the core but wrapped in a spiral pattern around the outer layer of the core. This gives it added spring or resilience. The 2-layer braided jacket encloses the core of multifilaments, which can be either twisted or braided, with the vectran. Over the jacket is a coating or skin.

The vectran in BG80 and BG85 maybe hype but those two strings are not. You'll be hard pressed to find better performing strings with better durability.

Yes, I'm just a nice, gentle, cute panda (NGCP).

Yeah, Eepak should come up with TEP Poppy Pop 1000 for the ultimate replusion, tackiness and durability.

Yes, I agree BG80 and BG85 are very good strings. But their description that they are vectran strings is a bit overblown for a string that contains perhaps not more than 5% vectran.

Maybe 5% is all that is needed. Anyone know why more manufacturers don't use vectran at all and why Yonex doesn't use more vectran?
