Hi, I usually play badminton twice a week, and I am on my school team. Currently I am using an indoor court shoe made by Adidas, however I am looking to upgrade to proper badminton shoe. I've done searches in this forum, however I cannot find the info I am looking for. My question is, are there any badminton shoes that can be had for under $70 in Ontario? I know there is the lower model of Yonex, like SHB56, but I feel that I can get something better quality of a different brand for the same price. I like the Kason shoes, but I can't find anywhere that sells them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I don't mind buying online either, I'd just prefer not to have it shipped from overseas)
I believe the asics shoes are around that price range, but offer comparable preformance to higher end yonex, though I'm not sure if they are avaliable in ontario.
Ahh sorry, lack of thinking at the time and didn't realise that it was in CD. My friend had SHB 56's and it lasted him around 2 months before he had a big hole on the side not to mention the lack of cushion and support in them.
That is due to dragging the foot on the ground, due to bad footwork. Taping can prevent damaging to the side of the shoe due to dragging, i have seen someone stiching a extra leather piece at that particular place.
Volleyball shoe You could try volleyball shoes. Here is the web site. You could find the address there. http://www.canuckstuff.com/prod/prom1.htm
Has anyone tried the Hi Tec Vortex shoes? (http://www.canuckstuff.com/prod/vbshoes/vbs_m3.htm) they look good for the price, however has anyone had experience with them?
If you told us where you live it would be better. For example vancouver b.c.?? richmond? etc. thank you.
Lee's Badminton located in Markham (may be a bit far for you) has Fleet shoes. They can be had for around 80 dollars. Many of the coaches used them and were content with the price vs quality value of the shoe.
Just bought a pair of Fleet FT-019 for 65 bux from Lees' badminton a week ago. It feels really comfy. I also tried on other brands while I was there...mostly Yonex. The SHB-98, SHB-99MX they feel all the same comparing to the pair I got. The Victor shoes was the worst. I got to say though, I never knew a good pair of badminton shoes makes such a difference. I am a step or two faster than before.
hm...I think if I am able to make the trek to markham sometime, I will definately take a look at the Fleet shoes at Lee's.
If you have never been there before, it's the first red building on the right if you are coming from woodbine
Greenfield Golf (yes they sale Asics court shoes and some Yonex clothes) have them for $60 (original $100). Not sure about the model, it's blue/white and quality seems OK. Their address is: 7780 Woodbine Avenue,Unit 5, Markham, Ontario L3R 2N7 Tel: 905-946-1730 Also have an outlet store in First Markham Place (Chinese mall on Hwy-7/Woodbine), beside Yo's sports, but closed most of winter...
Yes good badminton shoes make all the difference in your game. It is the number one thing to be had if you are serious at all about badminton. I have never had to buy Fleet shoes because I can get top-model Yonex overseas for about the same price but a few coaches I really respect wear them and they seem to last as long as any other shoes they wore so I don't see why not. Asics should be good as well but aren't very aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. Looks too busy.
